So why would players still want to play 2?

Some of the content in 2 is also in 1, but 1's content is way richer than 2. So why would players still want to play 2? I thought 2 would keep the best parts of 1, but it turns out 2 is just a test version for 1, and all the good stuff in 2 has been reversed back into 1. GGG, you really nailed it! The 0.2.1 update was initially thought to be beneficial for solo players, as it claimed to increase the drop rates of mythical gear while reducing drops for team players, and it also added rare omens. But what’s the reality? Solo players’ drop rates have been severely reduced due to the new drop system complicating things, and the mythical gear drops are still nowhere near the rate for team players. The rare omens for the emperor may have increased, but the rare omens for altars have been massively decreased. GGG, keep up your little tricks! Just go on, and never listen to the players!

As for me, better graphics.

This and the unbelievable amount of lag that still isn't fixed due to GGG's incompetence makes poe2 completely unplayable for me. Quite a shame, we're talking about a multimillion dollar company here.

I'm not logging into the original POE and have zero interest in it. For this "player" that's why I play 2.

I logged into POE once because I accidentally bought a crate there. The store changed me over to POE unknown to me. So I logged in to open the crate and quite honestly that was more than enough POE for me.

Yet I really enjoy POE2... go figure.

Poe1 has been getting benefits from poe2's development for several years now - nothing new.
To answer your question most people will play both when they get new content. There is really no need to make it more complicated than that and try to spin yourself in circles trying to moan.

Because PoE 1 is old news. Because PoE is so outdated, it's actually really annoying to play. PoE 1's interface is really garbage to deal with, the quality of life improvements to PoE 2 absolutely make PoE 1 a huge annoyance to play after you have been playing PoE 2 for a while.

PoE 1 is full of so much Bloat it's even more annoying to navigate all the different systems. PoE 2 is by far the superior game, with a fresh slate that was badly needed.

What else needs to be said. I played a lot of PoE 1, but PoE 2 is just better

Recency bias. A lot of people think that just because something is newer, it automatically means it's better. These people rarely stick around for long and once the new shiny thing comes out they hop on that bandwagon.

It's the better game. And that's with almost half the content missing.

Because I'm simply not a fanatic, and I'll roll with whatever new offerings the company makes. Poe stopped being interesting to me about two years ago, and I only entered the Phrecia event to reach level 80, where they gave you the skins for Poe 2. For me, the second part is already much better and I enjoy it immensely, something I stopped enjoying with Poe about two years ago. And we're only on 0.2.1, so I can't imagine when the game will be on the market for years.
