[0.4] The Fartmaster (poison spear Ritualist, all content viable)

First 0.4 version is out, its still in testing phase, but it looks like BIG boost.

New spirit gem enters the build and its big one - Eternal Rage (100 spirit/103+ strenght) brings rage regeneration to the table. This means we are sitting on 30 rage without any conditions. Rage used to be locked almost exclusively to melee, but this opens up new doors for ranged usage.

30 rage alone means 30% more attack damage. Tacatis Ire gives 60% (2% per rage) faster poison for Lightning Spear, which allows much more fluid map clearing (enemies dies much faster). Storm Lance gets Rageforged support for another extra 35% more damage.

Theres also minor change to skill tree and we get few nice supports for marks, so Snipers mark gets Eternal Mark for 2 triggers on one cast.

0.3 -> 0.4 changelog summary
Spoiler
List of relevant changes from 0.4 patchlog:

Ritual Sacrifice Stolen Modifier duration is 82-120 seconds from Gem level 1-20 (previously 15-19.75). Quality is now +20 seconds to Stolen Modifier duration (previously +2).

- build has 2 "unused" ascension points which could be spent on this, it was crap so far (loooong cast time/short duration) but with 2 minutes duration (possibly boostable by duration CD) it looks too good to not take it.

-----

Corrupted Lifeforce now also has You deal 15% more Damage to Enemies Affected by Blood Boil.

- we already got this, so big boost ("more" multiplier) for no extra cost.

-----

Arakaali's Lust now Grants Supported Skills deal 8% More Damage With Hits for each Poison on the Enemy, up to 40% (previously 6% more up to 30%).

- another free damage boost (again with "more" multiplier)

-----

Ghost Dance: Now has Maximum 3 Ghost Shrouds at all gem levels (previously 3-5 at gem levels 1-20). Duration between gaining Ghost Shrouds is now 7.6-6.1 seconds (previously 3.85-3.05) at Gem levels 4-20. Quality now instead provides 0-20% increased Reservation Efficiency.

- survivability nerf, not good

-----

Tacati's Ire now has Poisons from Supported Skills deal damage 2% Faster Per Rage (previously 1%).

- might be interesting if i try to make deep rage build

-----

Attrition: Now reserves 30 spirit (previously 60).
Attrition is now offered as a Tier IV Spirit Gem.

- another thing not used in build, but might be interesting on low budget. Moving down to tier 4 makes it interesting choice for lvling

-----

Mirage Archer: Creating a Mirage now has a 10 second cooldown, the cooldown starts when a Mirage is created and is no longer reset by dodge rolling. You can now have multiple Mirages active at once. Mirage duration is now 5.4-6 seconds at gem levels 8-20 (previously 4.4-5).

- not used, but got buffed to the point it could have few applications. Currently testing what it can do

-----

TLDR - damage up, survivability down + free headhunter from Wish. Might need to add some extra ES replenish tech.

0.3
Spoiler
So after 0.3 nerf, theres first version of reworked build.

Notable changes:

New core item is Original Sin, the ring that convert all elemental damage to chaos, bypassing new "Deal no elemental damage" affix on spear. Placed in third slot.

Theres no need for Plaguefingers anymore, so gloves are free to use for damage and usefull stats. Cheap option is HOWA with 2 sockets.

New runes on gloves - Rune of Cruelty for magnitude buffs

New runes on weapon - There are 2 options, either flat chaos damage runes (stronger than elemental damage), or "gain x% damage as extra chaos damage" which are more expensive and better once you get decent rings.

Snipers Marks is now manualy casted. GGG removed spell tag from marks so it cant be automated with meta gems. Pure cancer...

Trinity removed, since we dont deal elemental damage anymore, its useless (and big hit on damage). Replaced with Blasphemy/despair for chaos damage boost.

0.2
Spoiler
So i made this build as challenge after reading some post threat full of complains. I used "useless mechanic" - posion and based build on 2 "useless uniques" - Splinter of Loratta - lvl 1 weapon with 1ex pricetag and Plaguefinger, another lvl 1 unique for 1 ex that no1 use. The result is... suprisingly good.

The core of build is rather simple:

1/ Splinter of Loratta - grants unlimited stack of poison (default is just 1) with 100% poison on hit as nice bonus. Downside is the damage that match lvl 1 weapon.

2/ To fight nonexistent damage i have chosen to run ritualist as rings are the best source of flat damage.

3/ Plaguefinger - by default, poison is calculated from phys+chaos, but my damage comes from rings (and 2 weapon runes) which comes with alot of elemental damage. Plaguefinger enables all elemental damage as poison base

Along with skill tree focused on boosting poison, it creates TONS of deadly poison. So much that i can use plague nova (huge fart) after every attack. Game play of standard T16 map is usualy just run into enemies while altering attack and fart while everything just keeps dying. Infront of me, all around me and tougher enemies behind me.

Rotations are pretty easy. Mapping is just Lightning spear and big fart, boss is storm lance and big fart. Just 3 buttons. Unfortunately dont have space for curse, but herald of plague is not realy needed for bosses, so it can be changed for chaos resist curse.

T4 Olroth, probably hardest boss for this build as he just kept running out of storm lances, too mobile, alot of fast attacks, slows and freeze... Hate this boss.

Hey there,

Just came across your build and looks pretty good, just wondering, is it possible to level up as the build or need to switch at any stage?

Just seeking some guidance on it.

Thanks

I lvled as this. Kinda. It was creative/learning process with alot of experimenting. I grabbed weapon and gloves at lvl 1 (or 2) and never changed it. So its possible to lvl as this, but might be not "the most optimal".

You will just need to cast mark on bosses manualy and it will probably feel clunky due to low crit chance before you get crit nodes/gear, so single target damage will be inconsistent.

Another question is how well you will fill farts. I rly "discovered" its power later thru campaign as my early stages were focused mostly on ways of poison distribution/stacking (twisters were interesting, but i needed scattershot on lance). Campaign maps has lower monster density, so im not sure how effective will LS with volt/gambleshot be in early stages.

It was fun leveling as this altho not as fast as tangletongue meta.
Nice, much appreciated.

Will see how it goes, looking forward to it.
T4 simulacrum cleared (added clip of last wave). Sceptre with discipline instead of malice might be better choice for high tier simulacrum, might test it if i get one but im saving for rings now.

Also optimised skilltree pathing, getting 2 extra points in process.

This is probably my last update in 0.2. I have reached lvl 95 and lvling further is imho not worth it. Got solid gear and further upgrades (like better attack rings or prism of belief with +3 fart) are rather expensive. So i will probably conserve this build till 0.3 (or maybe 0.2.1 if it brings some interesting unique). Moving to another build i wanted to make for awhile now.

Updating Xesht run with current setup (most notable changes are better rings, +2 projectiles amulet and spear with rage corruption)

Nice
Well... I got abit lucky on my new main and got Desperate Alliance while doing sanctum for ascending. So i decided to make one more clip with "uber" Zarokh. Actually recorded whole run as alot of players find it somehow hard just to demonstrate its rather chilling experience. Unfortunately had to take "merchant has only one offer" so it wasnt that good, still managed to pretty much faceroll boss while eating his lightning attacks.

Also, new Palm of the Dreamer might be great addition to the build, but its superexpensive, so not tested.
