Glacial Lance causes game to freeze

Ever since I added the glacial lance ability and use it, there are times when the game-time will slow down extremely or just stop and take a few seconds to catch-back up again.
When my buddy is playing with me it happens to him as well, doesn't happen when he's solo because he doesn't have that skill. Doesn't happen to me if I don't use that skill. Also, it doesn't happen every time, it's intermittent enough that I still use the skill, but something is definitely going on. I thought it was just me. This is exactly what is happening to me. I thought it was something with my PC, I tried everything and it didn't work, and I'm actually using this same skill.
I have the same GPU as you, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070. I hope they resolve it. |

Does it happen in random locations or only during boss fights?
Do you get black screen and then cogs icon before game is reloaded? That's what I'm getting. I get semi-crashes (instance freeze) and after several seconds instance recreation at the previous state but only during boss fights. Once it happens it does not happen again on particular boss. On ritualist spamming glacial lance, never thought those hangs would be connected to skill use since it happens only in boss fights for me. gtx 3080ti on 566.36 december 3rd, drivers aka last safe ones. Happens on Xbox too.
Except on Xbox it can perma-freeze the game requiring a restart. In response to the question: Not just boss fights. No loading screen. Gametime just stops. On PC it hasn’t crashed yet. Xbox in my 30 mins of testing had same issues as PC (recoverable) until it wasn’t and I quit out. |

Happens to me too a lot with this skill as well. Multiple times on a map i get a game hangup for 2-5 seconds.

I have this happen as well. It doesn't happen every time, but I do hear my fans increase in speed when it happens, which indicates that the load on my system increased. I have a Ryzen 7 7700x and a Geforce 4070 Ti Super.

I would imagine that this is more linked to the global freeze than something specific to Glacial Lance (or we are a lot using Glacial Lance) : https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3677507/page/14
However, I do use Glacial Lance and I do have that issue sooooo, who knows |

Can also confirm I use Glacial Lance and it's the only ability I use actively.
So could be tied to that or the freeze debuff since I instantly freeze anything. |
