And not sure if it would be "gamebraking" since the highest body armor value Ive seen was 2k.
So around 60 thorn baseline
+50ish with [Sturdy Metal]
+35ish if we count [Ancient Aegis]

+30ish with [Stone Skin] Titan Ascendancy so warbringers cant get this.

Unlikely you can get all3, its a huge investment.
If you have delirium you are better with [Offensive stance] (1% dmg per block chance that should also boost thorn)

So its not like were asking for much...

Agreed.
It remind me of the "+X% increased Defences from Equipped Shield" that doesn't affect Shield Skills. All of them scale from the armour of the equiped shield but those passives don't affect this scalling.

But if its true what you wrote its just another reason why people don't play defensive playstyle.
Beucase its not supported. Its biased. How can people play defensive when there's no option to do it? Its like opening an ice cream shop without chocolate ice cream then you come to the conclusion not to make any, because people did not bought a single scoop in the past... XD

Ofc player will build glasscannons if you give them nodes that turn mana to damage, evasion to damage, ES to damage
But we don't have any nodes that turns armor to damage, and those who supposed don't give any either... XD

I was expecting that all armor increase nodes should at least increase Shield charge damage...
But I only pick armor nodes if its in the way to grab something else...

It would be an interesting calculation, but IMHO every armour node, scavenged armor, [Vengeful Fury] should all feed back to [Revenge]

Just the baseline stat is 60 point.
We see other classes hit half million dps meanwhile we try to create a minmax thorn build that fall off after T15 maps, because there's a high chance white mobs will oneshot us even at 3k hp and 25k armor XD
Hi, I would love to give this a try, I see multiple pob/builds in here and would like to know which one I should go with.

Any advise?

I have the Crown, the Briarpatch, and Tusk's Uniques.

Often I dont like how hectic the game can be...

Because I have both Barb and Quilthorn on my mace strike.
One is single the other is aoe thorn damage added to my attacks.

But we have a skill node [Vengence] - 10% of thorn damage is now leeched.
How can I even measure if I get the heal from the gems?
Because I don't feel my survivability improved...
(or it doesn't matter how much regen you have if your health goes 100-to-0 instantly)
Now that I mentioned the Barb gem... And it raises my issue that the game only have the illusion of choice.

My topic here...

So if we want to make thorn work, we HAVE to use Barb gem.
But barb gem can be only added to strikes.
We have 3 strike abilities:
Mace Strike (autoattack)
Boneshatter (one of the worst ability in the game because of the prime mechanic, aka you have to use it before the stun bar fills up and so many thing is out of your control to make it happen. like your own damage output (enemy hits you and thorn triggered it, a dot, a shockwave from totem, enemy level, your stun buildup stats, map mods...)
Armour brake - if you have Anvil weight you wont use this anymore. And its a setup skill not a payoff one.

So you have 1 "option"...
Until we get that 4 missing mace skill and still waiting for axes, swords, falils


Unless you go for spear warrior but in that case you need high STR for scavenged plating gem
and keep up high DEX otherwise you cant wear spear and use spear gems...
Yer it is a tad awkward, but I and others have hopes that it will only become better over time. This is 100x more viable then poe1 after all.

Also had a thought... Wind Dancer with Quill...

Gale force is hit damage, we need to see if retaliation goes off first then gale force procs afterwards. Frees up a support slot in our strikes and wind dancer has pretty good aoe already. It's usually supported by maim and blind... but we can just remove blind... we have no evasion anyway.

So you get a stack every 1.5 seconds
increase our 0% evasion
So technically we hit back with 60% of damage...

The issue is that while technically possible, doesn't seems like "off stat" gems are supported.

It can work as a Dex build spear-warrior and look how much of STR you can get...


Oh yeah... and I am not sure if I am a fan of the knockback...
