Dawn of the Hunt. Slow noob chronomancer in HC-SSF. Tips for first character (caster) act 1 and 2.

Can you trigger Frostbolts with Cold Snap? I didn't know that oO. I only use Cold Snap when the enemy is frozen. Thanks for the tip!

I don't like the Scattershot support, it feels so weak and slow. Maybe I should try your Cold Snap + Unleash combo.

@ziedin: You can't have two scepters, but you can carry a one-handed weapon in your main hand and a scepter in your off-hand. Any one-handed weapon with appropriate stats is acceptable (+cold spell level, +spell damage, +added lightning/fire/cold/chaos damage, +mana, +mana regeneration, etc.). And you can fire with your main weapon until you get a Frostbolt.

@Auricmetalmaniac: You're right, a Scepter in your main hand and a Focus in your off-hand are also possible if you have a good Focus with strong offensive stats.

My Chronomancer is back in Act 3 :D. The patches have changed so much, it's like a different game.
- Acts 1 and 2 are now easy, you can just run through them.
- The new Ice Nova freezes everything, and the Glaciation support gem makes it absurd.
- What's going on with the Time Rift? Is it a skill or an aura? I just found out you can place support gems in the Time Rift. I chose Clarity + Vitality for more health and mana regeneration, but it costs 30 Spirit and i can't use the skill anymore. oO
- I only found one level 8 gem; they just don't drop. The beginning of Act 3 is difficult with level 7 spells :(
- Essence-captured monsters in the Jungle Ruins in Act 3 are really tough, especially if you run away and add the Myghty Silverfist (a big ape boss with a bigger club). Blood rains from the sky, the Essence Boss spits deadly poison, the ape boss can kill me in one hit, and I'm fighting with level 7 gems. Luckily, I found a level 9 gem so I could use Frostwall. After a veeeeeery long fight, the ape dropped my second level 9 gem, so my Chronomancer is back in action :D.

Chronomancer is dead again, Viper Napuatzi got me :D. I don't think I can beat her in hardcore. The slow aura doesn't help against her soldiers with poison spears. Sigh.
