PoE1 was unpopular, but ruthless even more so...

POE2 is nothing like ruthless so I don’t know where this post is going

Crazy. Tell Kripparrian that. Speaker at ExileCon literally made a video
after release entitled "PoE2 is ruthless!!!" arguing that people that enjoyed PoE2 didn't claim to enjoy ruthless though they are the same thing.

lol dude quoting steam charts when the league dropped less than a day ago.. people barely had time to realize it sucked before you quoted them in your argument for garbage arpg gameplay.
yeah it IS 230k players but 80% negative reviews yesterday...

Oh so you parrot things?

Tell me real quick this may just be crazy talk comming out

Do you get hundreds of divs and thousands of exalts in a couple weeks of ruthless poe1 ?

I can’t seem to remember that being a thing

Make sure to have a thought of your own before responding. Thanks!
While 230K+ players is good, looked at a different way, there are 60% fewer people playing than at peak PoE2.

League on league only having 40% retention rate is pretty bad. Then again that statistic means NOTHING.

What means something is: Are enough people having enough fun to make the game viable.

For me, right now, the answer is no but time will tell.

Huge PoE1 fan, but if PoE1 was so unpopular, and Ruthless was an even more unpopular mode in an otherwise unpopular game... why are we going all in on developing slog gameplay?

Power fantasy is gone. I feel like I want to give my huntress a break and just jump in with a steak knife from my kitchen.

I hope some amount of market research suggests this is a good idea and is not just all based on a whim of some lead at GGG.

Yet right now there are 230 thousand people playing POE2 on steam.. so it is more popular than POE1. Seems super power creep fantasy is not somethign so many people like. Seems a lot of us get very bored very fast from exagerated pwoer fantasy and prefer some interaction and challenge.

They built a game they wanted, not a game to cater to the "Market"

They have a concept they want to work with and that is what they are attempting to do.

I have to admit it is not turning out as I had hoped but I can see the possibility of what they wanted to achieve.

The idea was to have the character actually feel like they are doing something.

PoE 1 began to feel like your character was not doing anything you basically could have just been a black square because you moved around so quickly, either holding down or continously repeating the same skill blowing everything up.

The power fantasy can still be there but in a more systematic approach to it.
They need to get the skill combo's right, I think one of the big hurdles right now making it so that the skills you use to setup kills actually feel usefull and purposeful and not like it is gimping your toon or the game being so easy it loses all fun.

This was kind of what I was hoping to do this season. Combos and Parry.

Combo's aren't going to work at all with builds where everything dies in one hit, so happy about the Herald nerf actually.

I am hoping that the problems I feel with flow right now are just that power is too low a low levels, or mob health is too high at low levels. I want higher health at high levels, with Payoffs that just absolutely chunk. But the road there seems very very dry and boring.

i LOVE ruthless ssf.
i dont like poe 2 at all.
poe 2 feels nothing like ruthless. ruthless is slow paced but relaxing.
finding a chance to bleed gem in act 1 feels like finding a mageblood. awesome.
i wish poe 2 was like ruthless...

I liked season 1 pacing, this season is kind of a miss so far as spear huntress. I would absolutely start doing more SSF if they had more extensive crafting capabilities like PoE1.
