A message to GGG <3

I've been looking at Forum/Reddit feedback and holy hell there is not enough of some good and well deserved positive feedback.

This game is one of the best things i played in years. Not just among arpg's but among many other games. I think, after full release it can be even in my top 3 games ever.

I love the campaign, i love the lore in it, i want to engage with the story. Sometimes it's even sad that i can't talk to NPC's as a character and choose some diaglogue.

The level design is impressive. First act feels like im in Van Helsing movie. In second act you managed to make desert area to be interesting. The Caravan is such a great idea. And third act is just great. (Spoilers) The fact that we can witness rotten present and colorful past is so damn cool. I really enjoyed those locations.

The music is something that is not always obvious to everyone. But it is such a big part of this game and in some places it is increadible. My favorites are: Count Geonor fight, Trialmaster Fight and probably Sekhema bossfight themes. On my first playthrough when i did not know about best builds those were the best moments. I fought Geonor probably 5 times with my friend until we finaly beat him and the atmosphere was so good it felt sad that it was over.

This is why i now will probably play so called "ethical builds" and not abuse mechanics to fell the game as it was intened. I had a blast with my Gemling stacker but it was a cookie clicker game. Im gonna play Druid and enjoy the game slow. Your vision on this - i like it.

I enjoyed Endgame, even though it needs a lot of work. The Arbiter and Xesht fights are very nice. Fighting Arbiter of Ash as intended was one of the best bossfights in the game and gave me the feeling i had when i fought Malenia or other stonng bosses in ER.

I already played for almost 700 hours and can't wait for new updates. I probably will take it slower and play another games to not burn out. You are doing a great job, making a lot of people happy. For every negative post here there are 1 000 happy players playing the game. I wish you the best mood, good nights rest every day.

It's bizarre how much negative there is out there. Everything from the game is too easy to the game is too hard, to it's too easy to trade to it's too hard to trade.

I mean it's $30 early access. If you made it over 100 hours I think you got your money's worth.

Endgame is not great but it's also not terrible. Not a fan of the whole citadel stuff but at least you can run the maps you want and even run them again and again if you really want to it's just the towers that are tedious.

Especially without a map tab. I think a lot of frustration that players feel is just the tediousness of inventory.

Everything is a blank slate to be a built upon.

And having played Poe2, it would seem like poe1 would need a lot more QoL improvements before I'd consider going back.
+1. It is a great launch overall, I'm excited to see how it will evolve, really want to play full campaign, and hoping that endgame will become quite interesting too, eventually.
This game has everything to be great, but at the moment it's a piece of shit. They put the worst game mechanics from POE1 and even enhanced them. The game's campaign was fun, but the end game is pure garbage.
I don't understand anyone who likes to taste shit, because that's what GGG is giving everyone with these mechanics and this rotten market, which only serves to feed BOT and RMT. GGG should benefit from this, which for me makes this company the worst in the gaming market.

If you are forcing yourself to [Removed by Support], this is only your problem. Everyone can play content which he enjoy, end there is quite a lot of enjoyable content even at this stage. More than enough for 30$. But you can continue to eat shit and cry about it, why not.

+1 again. And yes, I've spent most of those years playing PoE1.

And one more +1.

I feel for PoE1 folks this week. I understand why they're upset. PoE1 is a great game, and it's low-key become the standard for the entire ARPG genre. Everyone (except Blizzard, natch) who's making an ARPG in the 2020's is either imitating PoE1, iterating on PoE1, or responding to PoE1 in some way. The days of Diablo II clones are long over, and PoE1 is the game that ended them. Lots of people love PoE1, and just want more PoE1, and I get it. They're not wrong.

But the genre can't remain frozen in place for another decade without continuing to evolve. GGG can't just do the same thing for another decade and remain relevant. And I've personally definitely moved on. PoE2 is my new main game, and even with its rough edges, it's already achieving heights of success that PoE1 never achieved. And I love it, in exactly the same way that I loved PoE1 back in the open beta/1.0 era. 3.x era PoE1 had increasingly drifted away from what I loved most about the original game; PoE2 felt like coming home.

It's not quite the flawless victory I was hoping GGG would have, but it's already very, very good, and if they pull off everything they have planned? It'll be great. It has the potential to be another paradigm shift for the ARPG genre, and this time I'm in at the start of it. It's going to take a little longer to get there, but I'll definitely be along for the ride.

That said, I do want to give GGG one little piece of advice: under-promise, then over-deliver. I know it cuts against the grain; y'all love to take really big swings, and I mostly love that about you. But for the next little while, maybe dial back the promises a bit.
Stay sane, exiles!

I think promising what they are expecting to make is fine. This time it appeared to be harder than they expected, now they will have more realistic expectations and make more realistic promises accordingly. After 10 years of success, everyone can become a bit too cocky :)

Yep, i donno why people even play so much. And i played almost 700 hrs and probably should not have. Im gonna go play some Helldivers, whatever else. Have fun. Patch is going to come faster if you dont wait for it :D
We rage sometimes but that rage is at least in my case borne from the good deeds you have done for so many years, A great light can also cast a deep shadow but it does not mean that light is any less radiant.

Innocence be with you GGG.
Innocence forgives you
