Death Penalty is Super Unfun
I'm on the side that death penalties are overtuned, but still necessary. What my biggest complaint is, is unfair deaths. A lot of them were fixed in the last major patch, but a few groups of them still remain:
1) Things happening off screen: -I finish killing a group of mobs with a couple elites, move in to loot, and then a corpse explosion kills me. There was another elite OFF SCREEN. I didn't even know I was in combat. -Map bosses and zoom level. Enough of their 1-shot abilities can hit me when I can't even see the windup that I'm scared of bossing in any meaningful way. This of course, leads to a much larger discussion on zoom levels, but just the fact that combat is significantly easier moving left/right than up/down, points to the root of the problem. 2) No combat logs: If I die, or even come close to dying, I want as much information as I can get. I want to see what enemy, skill, damage type, etc. hit me, so I can see why something killed me that normally doesn't. Another huge tangent for background, I'm playing 99.9% SSF since the market's borked, and I'm playing grenadier with armor stacking (armor is just bad in general, waiting for that rework eventually). I know I'm squishy. The above criticisms are only valid because I'm playing a different game than the 1-shot everything, OP builds. I find my combat fun, engaging, and satisfying. Most enemies are a threat, and I can't 1-shot them before they can attack. This is much closer to the vision of PoE2, and I'm having a blast with it. I have my fair share of fair deaths- and I learn from them. It's the unfair deaths that destroy any sense of fun in the game. |

" Lol ok buddy. You don't even know what build I'm running while entirely missing the point. You have no clue what passives and gear I'm running. In other words, you're talking completely out of your backside. If someone can reach lvl 100 in HC, you can do it in SC for sure xD dont be a glass cannon xD

" It was super easy if I'm going to be honest. In the sense that every wall I hit felt impossible to pass and then when I did pass the wall it was amazing and made me feel AMAZING!!!!! I did NOT pass these walls because the game allowed it or helped me or showed me in ANY WAY. It was thru HOURS AND HOURS of research on the internet. I put in time. I read and I read and I read more, and I watched video's, more and more videos, so many videos, and I didn't stop until I understood why my build was sub-par. I kept going because it WAS completely beatable. The game does NOTHING to help you understand WHY things ARE the way they ARE. The wall the OP is refencing is different.... It has been corrupted. It's very real, and it is caused BY the game, NOT the player. Lots of people are going to say it is working as intended. I'm at this stage also and there are no helpful hints to get past it, because it is working as intended. |
