To GGG, if you can, stop chasing the $ and get back to making good games with the lessons learned over the last decade. If Tencent wont let you then ... well you have lost me as a customer and i doubt I am alone but you have also lost any claim to "vision" in games.
This forum is exhausting to read mainly of because disappointed edge lords who are transparently making up any unflattering story they can think up to try and passive aggressively "dare GGG to prove them wrong". Its just so goofy and on the nose.
Seriously GGG would put loot loot crates and P2W in tomorrow if Tencent wanted to do the story villain mustache twirling thing people are wanting to portray. How do you not know this? Like I don't love giant mega corps (in fact I'm pretty viscerally anti corpo) but as those go they seem fine for the last 5 or 6 years.
its astonishing that perhaps the least aggressively monetized major live service game around (one of the least anyway) gets posts like this. I can only assume the OP has very little experience with this sort of thing.
I think I need to take a break from the forums. I'm one of the most critical posters here but lately I am a "white knight" due to the sheer lack of perspective and reason floating around.
I wonder if this is mostly angry Diablo 4 players who got bored on day 2 and are just looking to vent in the forums of a game that actually has a shot to be great?
Relax guys... there will be lots of POE to play in the future its just time to play something else for a few weeks. It'll be okay. Holy shit.
I mean, not everything bad is Diablo 4 players. These kinds of people exist in every playerbase, PoE included.

Sure, didn't mean to imply that its just the timing with D4's season flopping.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

Don't worry, many of us don't play poe-2 or poe-1, there are more games out there, and very good ones. Don't worry! Soon you'll be left alone, with no one to complain.

I have some tough news for you. They DID copy POE1 and then screwed up systems that were absolutely perfect. They copied, pasted and destroyed. There is nothing in POE2 that isnt in POE1 and implemented 10x better except the new gem system which is garbage.

Can't really argue, but only because I read a comment by Chris talking about how they're thwarting an attempt to cheat. He talked about how important it was for players to load certain data so they don't die to invisible enemies.
Well, funny, because I loaded into a map and suddenly I see a lot of curses popping up around me. That's annoying, but I can just--- No, dead before I could even click.
That write-up? It was from two years ago... I guess we're just two steps back then.

POE2 has damaged POE1. Obviously given the 7+ month league delay. The longer it stays out of the minds of people the less people will come back. GGG decided not to hire more people to develop POE1/2. They got overconfident and will probably rush to hire more people, but that will take more time from POE1 to teach the new employees. POE1 will continue to be placed on the back-burner for years since it is the old game. Will this kill POE1? Probably, but slowly. Is it Tencent's fault? I don't know the inner workings of GGG to guess that.
