This. PoE2 fails this basic thing. Loot isn't fun: its a chore. Most of it is garbage to the point that they prioritized getting loot filters running to help you sift through it all. That should be a red flag: if you need software to hide the junk so you can find the few things worth bothering to pick up, there is too much junk.

And even when you do find something worth picking up most of it isn't useful. Upgrades are miles apart. "Crafting" (though calling it that is generous) is largely a waste of currency and deeply unsatisfying.

The only way this game really "works" progression wise after a certain point is dealing with trading... but that process frankly sucks and is also anathema to what these games are about. I don't want to spend my game time searching a website and messaging randos to try to buy something.

There's a reason why Diablo 3 wasn't fun to play at release and why they removed the auction house system entirely in Reaper of Souls: the whole point of the game is beating enemies to find cool loot. Short-circuting that as badly as D3 did and PoE2 does just undermines the whole game and makes it not worth playing past a certain point.

That's ultimately why I quit. Once you get into farming repetitive maps for boring trash loot, what is even the point?
