Delirium Visual Sensitivity Problems - Eye Strain & Motion Sickness

Dear GGG,

I want to bring to your attention a critical visual sensitivity issue that I have encountered. Recently, I started running delirium-infused maps, and I’ve found the gray fog to be extremely straining on my eyes. After completing a few maps, I experienced nausea and had to stop playing.

If this were limited to occasional delirium maps, I could simply skip the mirror without significantly impacting gameplay. However, since infusing maps is highly beneficial for loot and feels almost mandatory, it creates a situation where most maps are dominated by this gray fog.

This not only impacts visibility but also diminishes the vibrancy of the game's beautiful and colorful graphics. Coupled with the repetitive, gloomy music, it creates an experience that feels depressing and unfun.

I’ve logged over 503 hours of playtime and thoroughly enjoyed the game up until now. Unfortunately, this is the first time I’ve felt like I needed to stop playing due to discomfort.

I kindly request the addition of an option in the visual sensitivity settings to disable or reduce the fog effect. Additionally, it would be helpful to have an option to prevent delirium music from overriding map music when using infused waystones.

Please consider this as an accessibility and health issue. The fog creates poor visibility, leading to low contrast and forcing the eyes to refocus constantly, which can result in eye strain and motion sickness.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I hope these suggestions can help make the game more enjoyable and accessible for players like myself.

Sincerely,
Skyrk

i just hate it. Not to the point it would actualy make me sick but this fog must be the worst way to implement a mechanism i have ever seen in any game.
I would second this, if for nothing else to give my poor ole 1070 Ti a break from the torture the fog does to it.
delirium visual clarity is responsible for 50% of my deaths.
Most otg effects are barely visible even on normal maps, but in fog...
"PoE2 will fix visual clarity". I wish that statement was true but it's actually worse than PoE1 in many aspects.
Good post op. I would second this.

Just allow users to eliminate the fog and rhe music, but keep the packs. It's terrible for your eyes and honestly is depressing.

I hate the fog effect too.

The fog effect will reduce the frame rate and has no effect on the game experience. It also makes the ground burning effect unclear. I suggest lowering the color saturation. There is no need for fog effect at all.
I strongly agree with this. Infusing maps feels required in the late game, and the fog just kills visual clarity, colors, music and performance. We definitely need something different. Please.
Visual clarity in this game is really bad

+1

The game's overall visual clarity is quite bad. I legit died in a delirious map due to not being able to see a lot of things. And I had to squint my eyes to play.

Not only that, but it also tanks your framerate like crazy. A 4070 Ti with 64GB of memory and I still get crazy framerate drops even in my own hideout that barely has anything. I turned down most settings to low with no upscaling on 1080p, by the way.
Regrettably, I refrain from engaging with nescient individuals who proffer fatuous commentary whilst concealing their profiles.
