Arbiter of Ash Fight Feedback
Agree with the feedback. Timings between oneshot mechanics are very tight. Being a few pixels off will oneshot you, rolling third of a second too late will oneshot you. I'm playing with 35% MS boots.
Those circle bombs are ok, but the 'corridor' attacks require perfect reaction and positioning. Next set I farm I'll go in with blink (it's sad that you feel kinda forced to use this skill). The fight has great potential to be a really good fight, tho. When night falls

I have no issues with the one-shot mechanics. It's the biggest pinnacle boss at the moment.
I do have an issue with visual clarity. It's literally impossible for me to see the 'safe corridors' when he cast his Flaming Gales ability. The edges of those corridors need to be more visible so I can see it. If I die because I made a mistake I have no issues with it, even if it's a one-shot. But it's literally impossible for me to fight the Arbiter, since I can't see the difference between the safe lines and the one-shot. Untill it is changed I will always sell all my citadel fragments. So I've just progressed from +1 to +4 and beat the fight successfully on +4
In all of these tries, I haven't managed to successfully resolve the "soak meteors" mechanic even ONCE (no blink, just 30% ms boots on a spark build). I pulled the boss a total of 25-30 times or so and all my kills were without the meteors happening. The first few times was maybe me being slow and still learning it, but in the later tries, I swear the distances were simply impossible to cover even if I pathed to them perfectly. This mechanic just seems wrong and if I didn't have enough dps to push the bosses P1 with him only doing 1-3 abilities, I probably wouldn't have been able to kill the boss at all. The fire beams are actually fine for me now though, I feel like I can do them 100% consistently. Just move less, calm down, and dodgeroll from safezone to safezone - that worked best for me. Still VERY tight and feels like its way too punishing (oneshot even on difficulty 1), but possible. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Derptime#0559 um 21.01.2025, 07:29:35

" Just so I understand you right :). You tryed the boss 25-30 times. If you could kill him you simply had enough DPS to skip the meteors? Right? If you did not had the DPS and Meteors spawned you failed. Right? Sorry if I ask, I'm not nativ-english. |

"Yes. My DPS is high enough that the boss casts only a few abilities in P1, I just kept retrying until I didn't get meteors. Meteors was the only thing I couldn't do in this fight. My conclusion is you MUST use Blink weapon swap or have a lot more movement speed than 26% on char screen (which is what I have with 30% ms boots on a spark build) if you want to be able to do the Meteors 100% consistently. I think I got unlucky with the meteor patterns as well, I saw videos of people doing this fight and they had all 8 meteor spawn close enough to just run. Wasn't the case for me on any of my tries, always 1 that was impossible Zuletzt bearbeitet von Derptime#0559 um 22.01.2025, 10:07:50

I tried 2 times 12 chances. This fight is sirius lvl bs. Skip for me. Not worth annoyence especialy that deam + donut with 0,5 sec window. nah im good. JR aka "poe2 will fix melee" should try it and stream it so all slow melee players will git gud.

hey everyone, I have been loving POE2 so far but this fight...I just couldn't do it.
I don't know if it is my screen settings (play with very low brightness since I am very sensitive to light and usually play at night) or any in-game settings (almost everything on low) but I swear to god, I can't see the corridors during firestorm. This ability killed me 6 times despite knowing what to do beforehand. This is also after completing the Iron Citadel (clearing all mobs + Boss + Rituals + Expedition) and the map appearing as failed. I just don't understand how it is possible? Is it the bloom setting? IMO they should definitely tune it a little bit better. Also glad to see I am not the only one struggling. |

Greetings exiles and devs,
After having fought through the first tiers I finally attempted T4 Arbiter and for me there's mainly one mechanic that feels completely out of tune and demolishes any hope for a fair and fun fight, and it is firestorm. I'm not sure if it was designed with click-to-move in mind more than WASD (which I use), If staying still after each wave is the way to go (probably is) or if it's better to keep moving, but for me either way it felt impossible to repeatedly dodge successfully. I like fights being challenging and meaningful but this is definitely not it. Below I'll try to elaborate on why this mechanic needs ideally complete removal and replacement with another or a drastic rework: 1) Response time requirement: The reaction window feels way too tight. Not a little fast, not quite fast, it feels borderline instantaneous. Is it made with jet fighter pilot reaction times in mind? Am I getting too old and slow at my 30ies for gaming? Whatever the case, that is the aspect of it which feels most imbalanced and unfair. 2) Visual clarity: Sometimes you see the safe corridor, some other times you think you saw it but it's not it, some other times it feels like it's not even there. 3) Heavy RnG involvement: The placement of the safe corridors has a chance to be way too far to reach with anything other than temporalis/blink. At least my 43% movement speed (which I understand is above average) fell short when it spawned all the way across the other side of the room. 4) Oneshot damage with the combination of all of the above at T4 difficulty: The difficulty hypetrain that Elden Ring bred is understandable and we're on board. But keep in mind that I could try Malenia 20 times or more in a row until I train enough, with the only cost being the disappointment of failure and the time the attempts took. In PoE2 it costs as much as a piece of my gear on top. Conclusion, This mechanic alone makes the whole PoE1 A9 Sirus fight feel like Hillock on the beach. I will definitely avoid this content and focus on the other pinnacle bosses for farming, and only attempt it again right before the next reset patch when currency is already redundant. Other than that, thank you for making such a great game that makes me care enough about it to post in it's forum. |
