Due to Eldritch Battery, your helmet is providing 0 Energy Shield. 0 * (1 + 70%) = 0. It is not providing "ES converted to Mana converted to ES", because the game calculates all conversions at once, off the same base numbers.

The "ES converted to Mana" by Eldritch Battery is not being converted to Mana by The Everlasting Gaze.



Modifiers that grant "+% increased ES" don't care what the source is, so they will boost ES gained via Ghostwrithe or The Everlasting Gaze.

Those don't usually have any notable amount of Es. I wore a couple and recalled more ES, albeit... lack luster as additive on top after calculations... but that's what I expected of it.
