Dear GGG: You brought over a MASSIVE mistake from PoE1 to PoE2 and it hurts everyone! Resistance?!
You would have an easier time convincing a pig to fly. GGG does what D2 did. That is why we have a freaking Well now, for no reason (you can just "restart at checkpoint" to get your life/mana back "magically" lol). Resistances are a core D2 thing. So resistances are a core mechanic for them to balance the game around. They will never go away, ever. Don't waste your energy trying to argue for their removal.

" This post is not arguing for the removal of resistance though? This post is asking for the way they are calculated to be changed so that grind gear in the game feels better for everyone. |

Based.

I agree for the most part but at the very least if not this suggestion then at least let the game give an indication this is happening.
This is a big deal and yet the game just casually mentions it on a splash screen UI bit for a few seconds. I'm not quite sure yet where else you could see this.... |

" They're nerfing the map ele resist penalties now instead of buffing ele resists on gear which is nice. I don't think they're going to get rid of ele resist penalties entirely because once again, it was a mechanic in Diablo 2. |

" I. Don't. Care. |

" A bit crass, but yeah sticking with bandaid mechanics from a decades old Blizzard game is not aging well and I hope GGG realizes it. The new update lowering the leveling res penalty isn't a bad new bandaid fix, but it's still on a shaky foundation. |

" I think the harvest craft that let players change resistance elements was the only reason I even stuck with PoE1 for the last 3 leagues instead of dropping it. A single suffix mod should not force you to reshuffle your entire gear loadout. |

Agree.
Sadly I don't think ggg would do anything regarding this. They have their vision |

" Yeah... Maybe a few reasonable suggestions just might sneak in there though. |
