POE2 Can't login to specific character

1. Create a new temporary character in the same league as your stuck character. This will be the Player 1 (Controller #1).
2. During character selection, press Controller #1 and #2's confirm button to enabled Local Co-op using 2 controllers.
3. Select your new temp character as P1 and your stuck character as P2 and start the game.

This will move your stuck character from problematic map and move to your hideout (or P1's map).

I had this problem when I first started Act 2. I then switched servers after giving it 30 or so minutes and it let me log in w/o crashing.

I was then able to progress further into Act 2 and think I got far enough that whatever caused it at the beginning is not affecting me for the time being.
