Game crashes when loading into new areas - POE 2

I have the same problem. Solve pleaaase!!!
Same for me, freeze when changing zones, it happens a few times every day. I'm forced to reboot the computer. Dell G15

yea, starting the game, tp'ing to town, using waypoints, changing zones

TLDR

Having Engine Multithreading switched on and loading into a new area will, about once every 10 times, cause my game (but not PC) to crash with this error in the client log:

d5a32775 [CRIT Client 21920] Failed to decompress (corrupted data)

So the only way I can play the game right now is turn off Engine Multithreading, transfer between zones, turn it back on. This is a real pain.

ONCE it happened with Engine Multithreading switched off - when entering floor 4 on Trial of Sekhemas for 4th Ascendancy :(

Same thing happens to me. Sometimes it takes >10 game crashes/restarts to be able to transfer between zones. Note that although my CPU spikes to 100% my PC does not "hard crash" - it is just the game crashing.

The workaround till GGG fix this is to turn off multithreading in in-game graphics options (which makes graphics worse but ok in campaign maps but terrible blur/lag in towns). So the real workaround is Turn Off Multithread - switch zones - Turn on Multithread. But what a pain that is. The video that I saw that explained this (by PirateSoftware) said to also increase gamecachesize (in Nvidia Control Panel) to 100GB!

Update 1
When I look in Event Viewer for this crash I see:

Faulting application path: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\PathOfExileSteam.exe
Faulting module path: C:\windows\System32\KERNELBASE.dll

Google suggests this error is a carryover from PathofExile 1, and so unfortunately that probably means it wont get fixed anytime soon. But, this is GGG, so may be ...

Update 2
In mid-late Endgame, when you and enemies are throwing all sorts around, it is not playable with Multithreading off - the lag/stutter/blur is impossible. So I resorted to switching multithreading off and on when transferring zones. But if you forget one time and you crash, the game sometimes treats the crash as if you died. This is particularly gamebreaking in endgame Maps and Trials, where for a map you lose the weystone, activities & get XP penalty and in trials you lose your access/token/progress.

Update 3
I loaded the game and tried to crash it by having multi-thread on and transferring zones. Interestingly, whilst my CPU went from 30% to 100% nearly every time (a couple of times just to 90%), it took about 15 zone transfers for it to crash. The one it did crash on was a portal back to hideout (which I had done in one of the others without crashing). I looked in

C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\logs\client.txt

and I see this

d5a32775 [CRIT Client 21920] Failed to decompress (corrupted data)

I checked back against the Event Viewer for other crashes and this seems to be consistent with all my crashes. It does not seem to be preceded by any consistent other log entry.

I came here after doing a search.
It appears a LOT of players using PC's experience this "Hard Crashing" when moving between areas!
Honestly, before this POE 2 launch i can't remember the last time my PC hard crashed & i had to resort to the Main Power ON/OFF button!!!!!
Just dropping to say I've got the same issue and its getting worse.
Started with char logging in then now when entering new areas.

Got a similar problem, when I went to Keth in Act 2 my game crashed. I can't login with the character since. I tried deleting shader cache, turned off Multithreaded and changed engine to DX12. Nothing helped so far unfortunately. Maybe I'm going to try a reinstall
