Class gender locks still? This is not the way

I've happily tried out Caster Warriors and Melee Witches.

With more skills, weapons and ascendancies these boundaries will vanish more and more, so you will see more uncommon gender/playstyle combinations.

However, at the moment it's too point intensive to traverse "around" the center of the tree. There needs to be a "scion" middle section. Although the actual distance in points from Warrior to Witch is the same in PoE 1 and PoE 2, the clusters along the way are too specific to one playstyle and you'll end up not wanting to pick up anything along the way.
They Could simply make "Cosmetics" that change the appearance of gender.

I wouldn't say it's the 'easiest' fix, a gender option for each class is double the rigging/voice work.

Does suck, but we'll end up with 6~ of each gender. I'm just treating it as my version of the game only has 6 classes available, which will still keep me busy.

I agree. When I heard there would be 2 classes for each of the 6 corners, I kind of thought that each corner would have 1 of each gender. I was bummed when I realized it wasn't the case, but there's still plenty for me to do.

Same OP. Ranger, Sorc, and Witch are all unplayable until a male version is available.
I'm not mad that someone felt the need to necro this thread.

I'm just disappointed.

You play as one of the exiles, each one has a different lore. You can check the "WANTED" poster GGG release a few days ago in Twitter.
I understand that you would like a character creation with gender, hair type and other features but they decided that as a game design feature. Maybe in the actual release of the game GGG will add some character creation but do not expect gender change.

This. You aren't making a new character in this world, you are choosing to be one of these established characters which already exist inside of the world and have connections to various people and places within the story.

Think of it as picking one of the "Origins" in BG3: you're complaining about Karlach being a woman or Gale being a man.

TRUE.
They aren't gender locked.
They're characters.

You are not playing as yourself, nor are you playing as a character you created.
You're playing as the woman who is the ranger, the man who is the monk.

In terms of Larian's games, Divinity 2 and BG3:

You aren't playing as a custom Godwoken or Tav.
You're playing as an Origin Character. Lohse. Shadowheart. Gale. Fane.
Please keep these kinds of "feedback" out of POE.

There are many games that will cater to you if you want to build a character completely and roleplay with the sex you want.

This type of sillyness would only make more work for GGG that they don't need to do and cause unnecessary drama.
I am lvl 90 Ranger and I still didn't figure out, which gender ranger is, so I would say it's fine :)

This game has no Gandalf, no Elminster, no Raistlin, no Merlin, no Dumbledor, no Harry Potter, no Pug.

I've played PoE 1 the last week in preparation, with a Templar as somebody "close-ish" in the tree, but the 6 gender locked early access classes and their ascendendies are even further away for what I look to play in a fantasy RPG. I'm pretty mainstream with that.

With a game so agile in terms of class and skills, can anyone explain to me why the easiest restriction-fix of all, class gender-lock, didn't get fixed in PoE 2?

"Easiest fix"

Lmao.

Have you ever 3d-rigged a video game?
Voice acted hundreds of lines?
No?
Didn't think so.

Bro who TF cares. You got serious issues to be complaining about this. Jesus.
