[0.3] Chronomancer Megathread. WIP.
" We've all seen what Incinerate Chrono is capable of on previous pages. Keep up good work, and you'll be there too at some point. I'm busy with Silksong now, playing PoE2 while the controller is charging. Just a few maps here and there. Have to say, my last change - adding Cast on Ailments - pays off with Painter's. This setup generates enough energy to trigger almost at each pack and rare. Abyss clear became actually good. But i do miss Siphon Elements. It should be my next upgrade. - Got 2k more ES - Slightly more damage, which is a bit more practical. I totally forgot that I removed Exposure support from my Ball Lightning days ago, so all those Exposure nodes were useful only on Frost Bomb, and its frequency of use was drastically decreased lately. Anyway, this change allows me to farm t15+ with 6-8 mods now, unless they have smth that kills me. Damage was fine before that, but survivability with 1.7k ES was kinda bad, esp bc of suicidal gameplay. Now it's all fixed. ~~~ I really have an urge to get those new Invocation passives fr, and get 2x Elemental Invocations if possible instead of CoA. I played 0.1 as a SparkWeaver, skipped 0.2 and then decided to try out Chronomancer this league. I'm not a super-savvy POE vet or anything (3.26 was my first real attempt at endgame in POE1, for reference) - so this has been a real fun leveling/learning experience.

I've pushed the Chrono's curse-aura type presence as well with temp chains and ele weakness on the Blasphemy gem. I think my next real boost is going to be a Rakiata's Flow when I can afford it, which would allow me to drop Ele Weakness for something defensive like Enfeeble. So instead of CotB, you can slap a more powerful ring, like Seed of Cataclysm, while maintaining decent crowd control, and still be able to apply shock. Also, how much does it help investing in Infusion passives like Infusion Power or Evelasting Infusions? I honestly considered them today, but I just can't give up on anything. " Personally, never tried recoup in PoE2, can't really suggest anything, besides peeking at poe2.ninja. There are quite strong builds there, like that incinerate dude from the previous several pages, so you can get some inspiration. ~~~ Slapped a couple of more divines, got +3 amulet and some perfect jewellers (finally). Also, decided to ditch Ice Nova, and slapped Spark instead of it for Cold Infusion. Infused Nova is kinda strong, but I barely used it for the last couple of days. Spark, on the other hand, solves both the lack of offscreen non-triggered clear, and bad tight maps, where using ball+warp is cancerous. Also, ditched the idea of going for invocations instead of CoA too. 1 is enough, CoA is damn good now. Finally, consider going for those Infusion passives. Definitely lacking Fire for comets while clearing. Mechanically, infusions are very strong, but I can't sacrifice any passives from my current build. Both damage and ES are kinda in a sweet spot. I'm still trudging along. not to maps yet.
Atm, I am still pleasantly surprised at basically just using Ice nova as my primary skill. I can hold down ice nova, and press frost bomb, and unleash, without actually even letting go of frost bomb. Ive not hit map HP scaling of course, but again, so far this has been quite effective. Frostbomb of course hits ok, used on CD. it then of course powers frost novas. I've passived up for infusions, chance to not consume, chance for double. and UNLEASH on weapon swap, works very well with ice nova. Ive not taken the chilled ground suppression support, nor the 15% added cold damage when standing on chilled ground. I do wonder about each. Frostbomb as an infusion machine. its ok. obviously not a 100% uptime. but it hits decently hard, is free exposure, etc. Harmonic remnants 2 would obviously be my next pick I think. Drop orb for shock, and echoing thunder as well. bossing is still, novas to freeze, orb to generate lightning infusions/shock. then flamewall+jarts to kill. as always, its a bit wonky, but is solid dps. unleashed, and manual casting comet's are actually weaker then this. I tried eye of winter. just as wonky, but with the 15s cd, completely unusable... https://poe2db.tw/pob/ZQdrevKsbY so, Cooldown recovery. I got the 12% CDR from the new interlude buff... so thats 21% in passive tree, and 12% in campaign, we didn't have access to before. And, every skill can get the CDR. its interesting to note.. Im not sure what we can actually use it for. Snap's problem is not just the CD, but its totally pathetic damage value, for consuming freeze, and ailments. 30% increased cdr also can't fix 15s cooldowns. Blink? ..or did they remove cast on dodge. |

" It's a massive upgrade of the tree and gear to regain the resistances; I'd need some PoB to verify that it's worth it. For notable's infusions, when playing cold, it's almost mandatory because infusion generation is so poor, especially on bosses. |
