[3.26]🔥Fire Slamming Chieftain🔥 (Tectonic Slam / Volcanic Fissure / Consecrated Path / ANY SLAM)
" " Thank you! Just did an initial update for 3.26. Build wise pretty much nothing changed as far as I'm aware of. But I will take a pass at the whole guide and improve wording, clarify some stuff and look at the content flow. Wanna make it easy to follow for both beginners and experts. Starting to hit the character limit on both posts, (I forgot to reserve an extra post for the guide :D). Will also update the PoBs if we get 3.26 modified trees. I probably won't play this build this league. After hundreds of hours in Settlers I wanna try something new. Will definitely try to help people if they struggle and improve the guide. " I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I call this build's attack speed "not unviably slow". The "slow-slow" melee builds where you are attack at like 0.8 attack speed made me really frustrated when trying them. You got some really nice items there. 1H + Shield variant is definitely viable, in fact the more I looked at how many defensive stats the Shield gives the more I realised it may actually be more viable than 2H haha. But there's something about fulfiling the fantasy of playing like a 2H barbarian that I really enjoy. |

The new fire pen ring and Infamous mods sound insane for the build (hope the "Warcries cover enemies in ash" mod won't be solely helmet only though).

One of the best and most enjoyable builds in terms of fun I've ever played was a tectonic slam Chieftan using an Oni-Goroshi, but that was back in 3.21, I believe.
Is using that sword viable for this build? What, if anything, would you change? |

Anyone took this to red maps yet, looking for a league starter but am late to the party this league, looks decent tho.

Sorry for the late replies.
" Swords are viable, yes, but not optimal because they have lower base damage and high base attack speed which doesn't scale that well with this build past a certain point. There are also some slams which do not work at all with Swords, such as Volcanic Fissure. In my PoB I have an Axe setup which should be similar for Swords, aside from 5 Axe nodes (which should be respecced) everything is the same. Swords are probably more suited for crit builds though, so that will require a few more changes. If you wanna take a shot at it let me know. " I haven't league started with this build (in fact I didn't even get a chance to play this league yet haha). But you can check my 3.25 progression PoB, I have a separate Loadout at different points to show my character's progression. If I remember correctly I had a pretty scuffed setup but got to Yellow Maps on a 4-link. You can also check the Leveling PoB (updated today) for a more optimized tree. |

3.26 League Mechanics Update
Runegrafts
Runegraft of the Warp - Buffs on you expire 30% slower, Debuffs on you expire 30% faster
May be the best, makes warcry buffs last a lot longer, outside of More Duration Support we have a hard time scaling Warcry duration to cast Warcries less frequently, reducing debuffs is also a good bonus Runegraft of Treachery - 15% increased Reservation Efficiency of Skills, Auras from your Skills which affect Allies also affect Enemies Free reservation, with no downside when not using Precision Runegraft of Gemcraft - +1 to Level of all non-Exceptional Support Gems Generic power, needs testing in PoB but probably not that useful. This one below is bait! Runegraft of Bellows - 100% increased Warcry Speed if you have not Warcried Recently Bait: we Warcry so often we will basically never be able to use this effect
Mercenaries
Mercenaries seem overtuned, you can also make them proc a lot of effects you would otherwise need high investment to fit in your build:
Cover Enemies in Ash: this is huge, makes amulets other than Xoph's Blood really good Scorch Culling Strike Ignite for better uptime on the Fire Mastery which gives 100% increased damage on ignited enemies (we only have 25-40% ignite chance on non-crit) Purity of Fire for free Resists and Max Fire Resistance Anger - by itself not that useful, but can be used alongside Watcher's Eye modifiers and Sublime Vision. Not sure if they can also be used for Endurance Charge Generation for Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm
Uniques
Enmity's Embrace: extremely powerful effect, but needs at least a couple hundred divines up to a mirror investment to build around it due to the "Reduced Fire Resistance" effect. Even Mageblood builds fully specced in Fire Resistance can barely get around the 100% Overcapped Fire Resistance mark.
We're looking at around 50%+ More damage up to even 100%+ More Damage if you have stuff like Mageblood and minmax your resistances. Without Mageblood you probably need 100%+ Fire Resistance reflected Rings (using Reflecting Mist). Howlcrack: kinda wacky helmet, makes Warcries cost 15% Life (not sure if it can be mitigated and if it also procs with Autoexertion) but they have no cooldown. Probably more of a meme helmet, but one interaction that comes to my mind is with Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm: you can Enduring Cry before every slam to guarantee full Endurance Charges. Infamous modifiers: Unfortunately, probably not that usable, the ones we're interested in are the Warcry ones which are only found on helmets: Your Warcries cover Enemies in Ash for 5 seconds. (We can probably use a Mercenary for this effect). Skills have +(2–3)% to Critical Strike Chance for each Warcry Exerting them. Could be useful for a Mace crit build to easily reach the cap. The problem with Warcry helmets is that Echoes of Creation is way too strong (at this point I think this item should be changed because it makes all endgame slam builds look samey and kinda kills build variety). |
