[3.28] Ice Dancing God - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
" I agree it has less defence layers and less damage but 50% less damage seems overstated. Zuletzt bearbeitet von mrnb9x#4771 um 17.03.2026, 00:52:32

" Thanks for the link. This method can be easily adapted to our case (Shaper/Crusader). But it still involves a bunch of currency to craft the amulets for recombining. And then you have a 45% chance of success. And if you fail - you lose the Simplex completely. There is nothing to restore from imprint if the recombinator picks the other base. So then you need an average of 2.2 Simplex bases. Unfortunately, after that post, Str stackers got on it. And now the base is 40 div. Which is still cheaper than in any previous league. But 100 div for 10% MORE damage is definitely in the Luxury category. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Kelvynn#6607 um 17.03.2026, 01:03:01

" 2 shrine version always have 1 offensive and 1 defensive shrine. Gloom, Diamond and Acceleration all are offensive. |

If you wanna switch things up for the curse application setup, you can try:
Arcanist Brand - Hexbloom - Frostbite - Punishment. I'm not a very experienced player, but I'm very happy with this setup. I dislike how we are reducing curse potency by using Hextrouch, so I tried different things. This feels very clean. Benefits: - Full curse power and duration. - Only 4 link. - Can be improved with Hexpass (curse everything, nothing will deal crits to you). Maybe some other useful supports that work on triggered curses. Cons: - Additional button press. If you are worried about curse area coverage, don't be. Hexbloom is very good in high mob density maps/content. Curses chain to everything once a mob dies. Not only is it good, but it also looks cool, haha. For bossing, it is also better since the curses are full power and longer duration. Bossing setup is already self cast, so it's not like we are losing quality of life by adding a button press. So yea, try it if you don't mind pressing an additional button occasionally. It's not like the build is heavy on buttons anyway. |

I've recorded a small demonstration of curse area coverage. You can imagine how well it works in the actual endgame content.

" I did a comparison in PoB a few leagues ago. With the same gear on both characters, the only difference was class-specific Flesh/Flame jewels. Ascendant did about half the damage of the Trickster. You can do it yourself in PoB easily. The main difference maker is actually the Flesh/Flame. It's the biggest power spike for the Trickster, +40% MORE damage. There is nothing like that for the Ascendant. |

" I see some issues with Arcanist Brand: - Cast time 0.8 sec. Since we don't scale cast speed, that's a significant pause in your flow. You have to actually stop to cast it. - Arcanist Brand casts linked spells 1 at a time, every ~1 sec. It will apply one curse when cast, then the other curse 1 sec later, then the first one again, etc. - Supported curses have 40% LESS area of effect. And we don't scale AoE. So the brand's own coverage is not great. You have to rely on Hex Bloom's curse proliferation to spread the curses to everything within 4 meters when something dies. But they would often die with only 1 curse on them before the brand applies the other one. - The area coverage is still not as good as CWDT - BL's directional 4-meter-wide missiles that fire every 0.2 sec automatically at the enemies attacking you. Of course, there is a benefit of not losing 35% of the curse's magnitude. But I don't think it's really worth the trouble. The new Hexpass support is good defensively (cursed enemies can't crit) but requires an extra socket. We already have an anti-crit defense layer though (Solaris pantheon). So using Arcanist Brand to gain a socket for Hexpass is not super important. Overall, that's an idea to consider, but probably not worth it. I should test it anyway. " Thanks for replying and considering it! There are definitely things that I didn't account for, like the 1 sec delay between curse cast. But the brand jumps around a bit when units die, so it is likely both curses will be applied. Would like to hear your thoughts after testing. |

Getting asked about 40/40 challenges so here we go.
Only real challenge is Uber Undertaking and getting gear good enough for it. At that point killing the new boss is fast enough you can be not hit by his abilities simply because he has no time to use them. Lot of the grindy goals you can stack. Especially if you care only about advancing the challenges and not about clearing the whole map. Wonder if GGG will give City Square a break next league. Atlas Astrolabes: Complete rare T14+ maps with Astrolabe. Eldritch Evocation: Activate Eldritch altars or witness map bosses on maps with Astrolabe. Tremendous Tempests: Slay map bosses affected by Astrolabes at rare T16+ map with 150%+ quantity. Sandswept Survivor: Break Astral Chains in Rare T14+ Maps with 100%+ quantity. Gallant Grinding Goals: Complete Guardian maps with 100%+ quantity. Gallant Grinding Goals: Defeat map bosses in Mirages of rare T16+ maps with 80%+ quantity. You can advance all of those (and few more) in one map. Some of these get credit twice if you get to kill the boss both in normal map and in Mirage. |

" what about a curse with hextouch support ? does Frostbite/Punishment with lvl 1 hextouch in the courselink work for the second curse aswell ? if so, we could use another gem, like culling strike (for the jugular is kinda late). Zuletzt bearbeitet von Gottwurm#1507 um 18.03.2026, 15:59:05
