If you've seen the new Body Armour Empyrian just crafted...I think it'd be better than the Evasion/ES Body Armours. This thing is nuts. Also cost him a buttload of divines to craft though.

With similar investment how high can the Eva/ES body armour go? Or is it not worth it as a crusader item because we want to Eldritch implicits.

I'm not a rich streamer with mirror budget, but mine has similar ES and is better overall for this build.

ES/Evasion gives similar amount of ES. It used to be strictly better before the nerf, now it's basically the same. 1281 ES. But I also get 3770 Evasion which is really nice in itself.

T1 %Int is very rare. Hitting that mod on a Crusader base would take a lot of Spite essences. And then of course you want good ES too. The price tag on that craft is nuts. A whole lot more than just going for good ES (plus you may get lucky and get some Dex too, to help with the 173 Dex requirement; or Reduced Attr Required).

And if you go for that 12% Int, you cannot have the eldritch mods. Permanent 13-15% damage reduction from all sources is insanely good. I would take that over 12% Int any time.

I keep wondering tho how can i check my dps on PoB, is there any correct config for that, or all I can go by is how quickly shaper disapears?

Post #1, Build Theory:

The actual DPS of this build is hard to calculate because Icestorm mechanics are very different from other skills. It takes a couple of seconds to stack up. Without going into complex math, the DPS of Icestorm on a stationary target is about 23 * Average Hit.

I guess I got really lucky with the standard double influenced amu craft.
Any suggestions how to go on from here since I still got 1 open pre and suffix?

Thanks!!

Grats! This used to be the best craft before the Simplex came around. You can't really improve on this, other than Divine it to max rolls. You want the suffix for crafted Int (or likely Int+Dex). Which means the only thing to do here is Exalt slam a random prefix. With your luck you might get resist penetration! :) But realistically even something like 20% Inc ES would already be nice.

2. I've used three farming strats, two somewhat successful as you can see. I'd be interested to read what people have been doing to compare. Note I have all four voidstones and 6 map device slots.

-----------------------------------------------------

A. Essence/Harvest/Betrayal. The harvest is used to pay for rerolling the essences. Betrayal is a crappy time sink and I gave up on it after about 15 safehouses with just one valuable allflame and no other useful loot. I did use the posted betrayal guides as a suggestion. It takes me 7 minutes per map to clear T6-T9; the harvest takes 2 minutes of that. So it's about 1-1.5 div/hour.

B. Stacked Decks/Harvest. The harvest pays for the scarabs, so there's no net cost. I get about 50% pack size and drop 0.5 div per map consistently. The exp is great also. Cyclone is the key; the build is just about perfect for this. Maps are rolled to at least 25% pack size. Note: the T16.5 maps are great for this. This is about 2 div/hour. Also note: your merc will die. Takes about 12 minutes per map, 2 mins in harvest, and maybe 2 mins picking up stuff.

C. Ambush/Harvest. Harvest pays for the scarabs. I don't know; everyone says this is great but maybe the variance is just too high. So far I've gotten well under 1 div/hour. Yes, I am using 20q T16 rare maps with 6+ mods (rerolling with chaos.)

-------------------------------------------------------

I've found no high value loot at all. Just 4 dropped divs, 1 div from a merc, and a couple of busted crafts I was able to sell at a 1-2 div profit. So slow but steady. Is that everyone else's result also?

I'm avoiding T17 maps for now but maybe I shouldn't. It's just annoying getting them, whereas the T16/T16.5's are nicely available.

There are many profitable farming strats that people claim to work. You should be able to choose some that include the mechanics that you like. I typically check out the new mechanics introduced by the league and combine them with my old favorites. In this league I went with my all-time favorites Incursion and Ambush because they work so well with explosions.

Incursion generates you a full temple every 3 maps, and you kill a whole lot of mobs, about half of which are magic or rare. Most of the times you get either Doryani or Locus, and those rooms sell like hot cakes. Except the first 2-3 days of the league. I just stashed them until the prices got to the regular (0.5 div or better).

Ambush got nerfed (fewer boxes) but they added a new divination scarab that doubles your card drops if you can handle the empowered boss. I'm still doing Defiled Cathedral. Which has a chance to drop Apothecary and a lot of small currency cards. With the red influence that adds a lot more drop. And the pushover boss. You can see this farm in the youtube videos of the live stream that have 'Cardsplosions' in the title. Finding the Apothecary card (which is guaranteed to be at least doubled, with a chance of quadruple) - just once per league already gives you everything except the Simplex.

Betrayal rework is very farmable too. It takes longer to get the safehouses but if you can get some very sellable things there.

Max chance of the memory thread maps. 80% reduced chance of Fear cause the other 2 are much more profitable.

And scarab drop chances, lots of scarabs. Don't forget to vendor cheap ones for random new ones.

There is a new scarab for Expeditions too, if that's your thing. I heard you can get a lot from that.

And then you should always check poe.ninja for what's hot right now. Initially I blocked Settlers completely cause the ores are useless in 3.26. But then I looked at poe.ninja and remembered that the Crater thing is a part of that mechanic (it randomly replaces an ore deposit with some small chance). And that is how I got Svalinn - which had the same price tag as the Simplex base. Although that was still very lucky. But you only need to get lucky once.

Ignoring T17 is a mistake. They are not that hard. And they drop things that you can sell for a lot. My favorite is Uber Lycia. Because this build can facetank her lihghtning wave phase. And she drops a multi-div weapon. And this map drops in Defiled Cathedral. Perfection!

All T17 drop uber fragments, and you can sell them or do them yourself. This build is an uber bosser. They all have valuable rare drops. And you no longer lose xp for dying to them. Last league Uber Eater randomly dropped me a Nimis ring - and that was my Simplex.

Don't get distracted by 'get rich fast' clickbait videos. Most of them require you to be already rich. Plus heavy investments per map, mega juicing, etc. You don't need that. Use the power of this build and farm what you are good at.

I know your math about Icestorms says don't level Cast while Channeling above 15, but hear me out.

At a certain progression level (propably when you can afford the Heist Ring) your damage and Int will be high enough, that the loss of 1 or 2 Needles won't affect your Map-clearing at all.

If we then start to use Awakened Cast While Channeling lvl1, we gain Stun Immunity which will additionally frees up a Flask and gives us a Skillpoint.

Both which would allow us to get even more dmg/utility than the loss of that Needle.

You need stun protection for boss fights anyway. You can get stunned very noticeably by some of the pinnacle bosses without the ES Mastery. Saving a skill point on it is not really an option since it adds damage with Polymath.

Awakened CwC was already discussed and tried a while ago, when Icestorm was limited to 5 storms and we did the math. There was a noticeable drop in map clearing performance. Storms disappeared too quickly because they were replaced by new ones, and some mobs were left behind.

It may be not a big deal with the explosions though. When a pack explodes from 1 hit, it's fine if there are no more hits after that. Then again, they are not alive to stun you either, so you don't really need stun immunity for trash clearing.

I agree on the Polymath. I forgot this. Still gives us a flask to toy around with.

However the CWC lvl 15 I still believe is a relic from the past. Things change. We got much stronger over the leagues where we left mobs behind. I don't have that feeling at all these days that we leave mobs behind with ACWC.
Kelvynn, thanks for your response. Lots of suggestions for me to think about.

It's very clear you play the game at a much higher level than I do! It's great to learn from the master.

What does "Max chance of the memory thread maps. 80% reduced chance of Fear cause the other 2 are much more profitable." mean?

Nothing changed mechanically about Icestorm since 3.12. You still get the optimal casting rate with CwC lv 15-16. ACwC would be worth it only if there was something in the current league that constantly stunned you in every map. But there isn't.

The new nodes at the very top of the Atlas Tree.

Ahh. Missed those -- as usual. Thanks.

Yes, nothing changed mechanically since then. But our damageoutput is much higher than 5 years ago. (More Int/Power from the Tree, new Crafts, Jewels, etc.) Thereforce I argue you won't leave monsters behind anymore with ACWC.
