[3.25] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything

"
Back in Settler's I was surprised at the rate Oriath's End fell in price which I ended up using often as a nice source of explode that helped out. Certainly not on the level of occultist but it was more than servicable though obviously not immediately available.

Being a boss killer, I've dropped Oriath's End multiple times and tried it for mapping before inevitably selling it. The chance of explosion on it is too low, and the damage type is random and often heavily resisted even by trash mobs. You only really explode anything in a meaningful way when it randomly rolls cold.

Just sell Oriath's End.

Hello there o/

I was planning on doing this build for 3.26 and I am excited for it. Do you have any thoughts on the ice golem change and/or the focused channeling support addition? I thought about trying to fit those in during the league.

Also thank you for making this build. This is one I have gone back to a few time :D

Golems die way too easily in this build to be reliably useful, and adding it to CWDT setup and/or investing in minion modifiers isn't really a practical solution either.

Focused Channeling states "Supports channelling spells you cast yourself". Icestorm is not a channeling spell so it won't be affected using either staff.

Golems surviability was never a problem. The problem was elementalist surviabilty... and the required investment in passives to make it worth it, it's a cool idea tho!

Bit of a brain fart moment with the cast on channeling. I might still leave the golem on the table though. Would be fun to mess with at least

The video you are referencing is an Elementalist and has several investments into minion mods, neither of which applies to this build. I have tried using a golem in endgame mapping on this build and it dies all the time. Feel free to try it out yourself.
Skill tree changes to cold has been updated. Anything seems worthy for us?

It almost feels like they're daring us to work this in somehow as some bonus damage. Staff-only, increases to spell damage apply at 150% to attack damage, 2% to deal double damage per 10 Int.

It applies only to Heavy Strike.

I remember falling for a bait like this before, for leveling. When they buffed Frost Blades and some other melee skills, by some huge amount (on paper). So I tried using several of those buffed skills for lv 1-33. Then I found myself spending minutes to kill random rares in Act 2. Out of curiosity, I switched back to Icicle Mine. And started 1-shotting those same rares again.

Nothing so far that would benefit this build. Will need to see the full list of those new special mods on gear (I'm sure poedb will have it eventually).

They clarified more details about mercs. Each merc will have a set affinity for certain attributes (Str/Int/Dex). They can only use gear that requires those attributes. And they can only use weapons appropriate for their 'archetype'.

We'll need to find an Int caster merc and give it Gravebind and 2x Obliteration. And eventually find one that has a useful aura too. Not sure if a perfect combination will be avaialble. But even without an aura, the explosions will make the Trickster very happy.
