As info to all other arachnophobiatics: Spacetroll

Spacecom did used HoA with 10% poisonchances (instead 80%) and did not understood that without own poisonchances and HoA-virulences the skill Herald of Agony does not work.

He writes himself he generates ingame only 20 Herald of Agony-virulences, but means to need to rant. To mention: By default the Allstars use 97 HoA virulences, that's 40x times the damage of Spacecom.

He plays in legacy-standard and is enraged that in standard prices are more expensive as in leagues.

Spacecom used 15% spell block instead recommended 60-75%. He decided to not use spell suppression further. In this style, his own spacecom style, he takes 500% more damage of spells.

As result he guesses the build is sqishy - without realizing he is himself missing spell suppression, spell block, endurance charges, armour, poisonchances, etc.

That is totally okay for spacecom (and I love it very much too when someone varies HoA), but of course the HoA-Allstars-build here guided uses much more tanky mechanics and much more damage - more as 1000% more.

The whole spacedrama is documented on the pages here in the forum. I and other users tried to help him fixing his set-up many times, he thanked it with insultings.

I myself learned that it's only lost game- and lifetime trying to talk with him.

First, just wanted to say thanks, this is an amazing thread, with so much info, so much advice that I find it truly admirable that you managed to put everything in a structure that is clear and understandable, even for a newbie.

Taking the opportunity, before the next league starts I thoughts I'd reach out for some mid-level advice (maybe it is even low-level advice).
This is what I managed to put together when I came around to PoE1 from PoE2 :)

In general I am tanky-ish, but I think there is a LOT that I (or someone in a similar situation) can do better.

I would be very grateful if you could take a look at what I managed to put together on a shoe-string-budget. I tried to incorporate as much as I can into the character as I could.

On a similar note, I think HoA will be a beast in upcoming league, probably snowballing into a ridiculous level. Looking forward to hearing your take on this!

I would go next for the poison on hit tattoos, flasks Sins Rebirth and basaltflask, then for Skin of the loyals / lords and watcher's eye es on hit, of course all depending on the actual prices in trade.

Switch out the levelling HoA-phantasms-supports against other supports.

These levels around the CI-Transformations are not easy, but you have already the aegis aurora and it should develop good, quick and cheap.

Yes, the new event will be quite interesting and special. It seems that HoA can reach with the Arakaali-tree early 300-400M HoA-crits in exchange against some tankyness.

Arachnophilia!

With "Herald" as witch the HoA will get in Legacy of Phrecia 25 additional HoA-virulences ("Scourge") and +3 HoA levels ("Apokalypse") - Good scaled each 5 virulences will count around 110M, mmhmm, that will lead the build to 122-140 HoA-virulences and so to delicious 250-1400M dps.

In cheapest gear. Imba. Totally insane.



Because auras will be disabled, the build will have three defensive set-ups: hybrid life+es, CI, and mageblood to choose from.

1) As hybrid life+es Maw of the conquest as helmet or Kahuturoa`s Certainty as boots will be a good choice (or also rare boots unaffected by poison) and perhaps switching to The Svalinn or The Surrender shield. The Dark Seer sceptre +2 life / +2 es per lvl should be used before scaling HoA-crits.

2) Alternative we remain CI and choose as bodyarmour Lioneye's Vision, Brass Dome or rares with high es. Stasis Prison would be nice too.

3) Third with the mageblood armour and evasion of flasks again will be buffed valuable tanky by Skin of the Lords 100% increased global defences, for the +4 HoA-levels and additional the keystone.

Auras disabled

Instead auras we activate aspect of the crab, temporal rift, arctic armour, and when wanted defiance banner.
We add enduring composure for endurance charges or the new "Damnation" for elemental flat dr ("Future Guilt") and HoP as meatshields for flat physical dr.

New flasks | Recovery

Because we also cannot use the watcher's eye, in examples we add a recouping-mastery, use the flasks sorrow of the divine or bottled faith, the belt graven's secret, temporal rift, and/or buff up storm burst to leech with ghost reaver and vessel of vinktar.

Vaal discipline, and also in maps / with the Hateful Accuser ring + Soul Ripper-flask, can be used also or as belt-variation The Burden of Truth.

New rings | More flat damagereductions

Mana Reservation will be no problem, so we do no longer need the Circle of Nostalgia. We add instead the Anathema moonstone ring to stack 4-5 curses for enfeeble, punishment etc.

As second ring a hungry loop for skillslots (HoP, ball lightnings, or storm burst), or rares or The Hateful Accuser for Penance Mark are very valuable.
So also enough skillsockets will no longer be a problem.

With melding of the flesh we stack as usual already +90% max-resis early, perhaps in combination with Herald of Ice for easy additional +5% max cold-resis in "Future Fear". Help bandit Alira with 1 passive point.

As usual 100% spell suppression, 100% ailment-immunities, spellblock and attackblock are stacked beside too. Spell suppression and ailment-immunities we cap 100% with 1-2 small clusters "elegant form".

1B+ damage

Of course we use further the unique clusterjewel "Calamitous Vision" - when it's price don`t skyrocks, but it's a quite common drop for 25% more damage on top.

Vixens gloves are switched to Asenath's gentle touch-gloves or to the 4W-socket triad grips.

The 3-5 small clusters for auras and mana could be switched out against the minion-mastery for HoA-Unholy Might for a free gloves-choice / asenath gentle touch.

Probably also a double herald set will be valuable: Herald of Agony combined with Herald of Purity and Phantasms support (+ Withering Touch + Feeding Frenzy + Multistrike).

My man this seems like massive bait.

In the "low budget" pob you're running a perfectly rolled melding of the flesh.
That's gonna run for like 100 divs.
+3 Skins of the loyal, that's another 80-200 divs, and so on.
You're also running the old all res flasks that rolled up to 39% which are not available this league.
Also most importantly, I don't see a way we're ever surviving. In the standard version of HoA our armor stacking means that Aegis Aurora restores about 800-1000 Es every block. With 12k armor (and this is with all flasks up btw) we're only getting 240 ES, while we're using frost shield more often than usual since we have way less armor and evasion. Where is this ES sustain coming from?
