[PS4] Crafted bench mod prevents the use of Veiled Chaos Orb

When I try to use a Veiled Chaos Orb on this item, I get the following text in red: "Could not generate Mod".

This seems to be related to having a legacy roll as a suffix, but I suppose this is unintended. Otherwise, can you confirm if this limitation of Veiled Chaos Orbs had been previously communicated to the community?

I am playing on Standard SC league on PS4.

Bug Report Number: 959728416

EDIT: The title of the thread was updated on October 24 to reflect my current understanding of the issue. The text above it the original post, unchanged.

They changed Veiled Chaos so they can't be used to get 2 Veiled Modifiers.

I'm guessing that includes the crafted veiled mod on the suffix, which you have set to "can't be changed".
That could be the case, but a simulation on Craft of Exile with the exact same setting (only a current Shaper mod roll instead of legacy) works fine. There are also several crafting video guides online that do alike: multimod, suffix/prefix(es) cannot be changed, etc.

I tested the possibility on Craft of Exile even before adding "Suffixes Cannot be Changed". It should've worked fine, that is why I think the legacy roll is stopping the Veiled Chaos Orb from working.
Its as QQPQ said, so in order for this to work you gonna have to remove the resistance craft first

Have you tested this somehow or can you point me to a reliable source about the issue?

What bothers me is that it works fine on Craft of Exile.

An item cannot have two unveiled mods, but the one you're pointing to was crafted, not unveiled. As far as I can tell, crafted and veiled mods are perceived as different in the game. If the resistance mod is considered as an unveiled craft on this regard, that is surely a bug.

That just means the developers of Craft of Exile need to update their code to reflect the game.

Not necessarily, since this behavior is most likely unintended...

My guess is that unveiled mods (explicit) are meant to be treated differently than bench crafted mods (which are not explicit) throughout the game. They even get different names in the advanced mod descriptions. There must either exist documentation about this interaction in patch notes or development files, or this is unintended behavior. No middle term.

Are you new to PoE?

There are intended changes left out of the patch notes *all the time*.

If it's a bug, GGG will fix it.

If it's not, they won't.

Not new at all, my bro. They do leave some stuff out here and there, but if you read again, I said "or development files".

By now, I believe that the problem is the interaction with the crafted resistance mod that you pointed out, not the explicit legacy roll... But even then, I believe this is unintended, that it is a bug.

The whole point of this thread is to draw attention to the issue. From the development perspective, they surely know the answer: these mods should be treated the same or not. I'm looking for that answer based on a reliable source before I try to change the item in other ways.
