Yes to the Spectre question. We ideally want Spectres with the high life pool so their corpses become part of the group that is cast when we use Desecrate. When they explode we get the percentage of their life, so bigger life means bigger bangs for us :)

I'm using Kitava's Heralds for the high life pool but also because they actually stay alive through a lot of the content and they help out in map clearing either through direct damage or drawing peripheral enemies into my kill zone.

I'm not sure which cluster jewels you're using. If they are increased Spell damage, then no they won't improve VD damage. If they increase fire damage though, the should work (I could be wrong on this, I do not claim to know all the ridiculous interactions that POE has and then doesn't explain properly).

Fire damage increase(but not "fire damage over time") ofc apply to VD, why wouldn't it?

About spectres - you need spectres of mobs with high life multiplier, such as Kitava's Herald. Spectre itself doesn't explode(or, well, do anything else useful), it just add corpses of that type to the pool of corpses deesecrate can create. And corpse life depend on corpse type, so, say, kitava's herald corpse will have more life than arcmage corpse. It's best to have 2-3 different spectres.(to add more types of high life corpses to desecrate pool).

Peace amidst chaos gives 8% life, but does the 25% increase make it become 10%? i checked, it just gives 25% inc for the small nodes


as for antivenom on other jewel, i used that until i got the Soul of Sharaki patheon for poison immune

Peace Amidst Chaos gives 2% physical resist and 2% life regen while also giving 8%, that's much better than any other notable or small node mod.

Soul of Shakari actually is an interesting choice. The damage reduction partially applies to elemental damage but 5% seems very weak compared to Tukohama. On the bright side, you don't lose it when you move.

I see your point. I swapped Born to chaos for antivenom, and now using Tukohama with Soul of Solaris so i'll see how it pans out
