Yeah, I when all is said and done most of the blade blast builds I was looking at will be pretty interchangeable with this build. I have also penciled a couple Poet Pen + Spell slinger builds together, but I think I just like Cyclone as a vehicle to much better. I played this build long enough that when I try to go to stationary things it just doesn't feel good lol.

I don't really know why I just blanked on going pure CI with zealots oath or something. Honestly, since you only cast VD ~3 times a second with this build, you really only need to do hit your CwDT triggers like 2 times a second even with regular spell cascade in the VD link, so that shouldn't be so bad. I have just gone hybrid for a super long time and completely blanked on CI lol... I honestly only would need to swap a couple pieces of gear too, but it does make me mad since this was my first build that finally got decent Chaos res and that would be meaningless now lol.

I wouldn't want to poet's pen without bodyswap or lightning warp somewhere. hahaha.

Spellslinger can be inserted into current VD PP builds with just a movement skill and be great as is I would think.

I figured it out a while ago that I needed something like 2k ES recovery per second to overcome scold's damage. haha. Also GETTING enough ES is gonna be hard with a staff.
Rut ro.

Spirit offering no longer grants a portion of the minion's maximum life as Energy Shield.

Loved your build, Gryph!
RIP :(

Was gonna play this the first time this league and as my starter.

Overall I am pretty happy with the way my modified Necro is performing. Sadly I don't think I will be able to get the Elementalist version to work because I just tried specing out of Gluttony and my mana tanks like instantly lol.

In the end the damage was a lot closer than I would have thought (the ele basically only did more because I would have perma shock still with it). I think I could actually shuffle things around on the necro to make room for Vaal Lightning trap, but I would still lose out on damage vs Sirus. Honestly my damage is high enough I am probably better off with the necro anyway since Plaguebringer at least brings something defensive to the build and my damage will still be ~6.5mil Sirus DPS even with the new tree i have that drops throat seeker and corpse pact

I honestly haven't really played with Poets Pen much despite having a couple in my stash. When you put Swap or Warp in the pen and are fighting a single target (like shaper/Sirus/elder), does it just keep warping you on top of them automatically, because I think that would just annoy me too much. Or where you talking about something else?

For poet's pens it warps you to where your cursor is. It works well with VD bc you can kinda skirt around and let the balls autotarget the bosses. Also if it does end up being too cumbersome having it on spellslinger will make turning it off for a boss fight really easy. For me it's mostly for the mapping side of things.
RIP. Was an incredible build. I wish I could get a refund on the volatile dead skill effect that I bought.
I might have to play with that when it drops then. I had penciled something together after the spellslinger info drop that had an elemntalist who could run a 6 link VD spell slinger + anger +zealotry (with auls) +herald of ash + aspect of spider that i think was also going to be able to run a second herald that was looking interesting.

Honestly though, I mostly stick to standard (prob just making a hardcore guy to do a little Cluster Jewel and shard farming to ship to standard this league), and I am pretty happy with how my necro is still performing after trying a couple builds. Honestly I tried specing back into Corpse pact using the Doryani's and just being minor attentive to my HP, and I was able to run guardian maps aside from the one I tried with -74% HP recovery rate, and I still beat that one, but I died twice to chimera's smoke phase. I would probably still drop CP just because it isn't needed and makes things a little more mindless if my APS doesn't get that high.

I did also try switch to my CoC gear and doing one of the versions without scolds and it wasn't terrible, and probably was more damage when fully ramped up on CP, but I don't like being forced to close in when I don't want to.

Absolutely loved this build. Can't believe they just upped and gutted it like that when it wasn't even that popular of a build to begin with. Well there goes all of my standard currency and my league starter. Nearly 100% of my cash was in items for this build.

If I were to do CoC I'd use a bow and Asenath's Chant I think because I can keep my distance anyways.

And yeah I think the build will still work if you want to invest into it. It's just not gonna be the same smoothness as before

Unfortunately it wasn't this build alone that was abusing Spirit Offering. The zombiemancer builds were also using it to do stupid things like facetank uber elder. I think this nerf was mostly in retaliation to those builds (along with zombie nerfs and baron nerfs).

ALAS :(

Would love to see what you come up with if you find some alternatives to keep this alive. Will keep an eye out to see if you drop a new guide for a diff build this league. Now i'm searching for a league starter with two days to go lol.
