Idk if it's better than specters because I haven't played or seen one this league but it's perfectly fine in blighted maps in my testing. If you use the Frenzy/Power charge generating Specters they arent fast enough to kill them. Don't use any other minions. If I have wolves up sometimes I will weapon swap to unsummon the wolves, that helps sometimes. Also to do the summon correctly Cast Desecrate, hold your button for Bane and while still holding it, use your Writhing Jar. If that doesn't help then I dont know what else to tell you.
