To login with your PS account you just need to scroll down a bit on the login page. On the rght side there is a button for the PSN network. Just click it and you can insert your PSN credentials.
You can mark your account as public, and then people will be able to see your skills in case you want more questions to ask.

Path of building would be a great addition to your tools. I use a linux notebook for it and start it with wine. On a Mac, you should be able to launch a windows client to use path of building. Most guides you will find use that tool, and it is really great.
The tooltips on your skills rarely show your real numbers, especially when it comes to combinations with skill keystones.

If you want to be able to fight while running the easierst way is to play a caster. Storm Brand for example is great to achieve exactly such a playstyle.

Thank you! Despite checking the login page several times, I did not spot the PSN or Microsoft logins. Terrible UI layout design imho. But hey, I only have 15 yeas experience in the IT support industry. I've now been able to log in with my PSN account on the forums. Of course, now I have 2 forum accounts, which is probably against the TOCs, I wonder if the 2 can be merged by GGG...mmm.

So, ppoeplanner and path of building are the same then, one just online, and the other offline? I presume that they're not, simply cos I'd expect poeplanner to have a link to download the offline version on their website and i couldn't see it. As to running pob, I don't have a spare Windows client key to run on bootcamp (or a VM) and i can't afford to pay for One. My PC is currently offline as the PSU is dead and i can't afford to replace it (when you're unemployed, money is tight), pus, I prefer to use OS X as my day to day system than Winblows.

I starting playing on PC years ago, so I have two accounts, too. That is not against the TOS. You are also allowed to use as many accounts for playing as you want. So on PC lots of people use that for having more stash without paying for the tabs since you always get 4 for free with every new account.
On console this is a bit more difficult since you need a second console to play and group with yourself at the same time to trade your items between your accounts.

As to path of building, that is the only standalone and offline client I know of. The guy who starting the project has been hired by GGG, it is really a great tool and much easier usable than the online skill tree tools.
I would try to get a cheap used notebook and just install linux on it. You need no modern hardware to run the tool.

Btw., Vortex is great for running and fighting, too 🙂

I have brew installed on my Mac, might see if I can brew install wine and use that to run the path of building exe binary. Great idea! The problem is I'm running on a MBP mid 2009, so stick on El Capitan and can't upgrade to MacOS Sierra etc UEFI (firmware blocking by Apple, another reason why UEFI should have been made illegal when it was proposed). I have seen zero benefits to UEFI, only negatives since it became "mainstream". The same can be said of systemd vs initd on Linux. I'm a UNIX guy at heart, so ikntd craps on systemd from a greati height imho.

Well, I've supported GGG by already buying 2x premium stash tabs, map tab, divination tab, currency tab, essence tab, fragment tab and the sunspire supporter tab, so the 2 accounts 4 stash tab trick is a bit late for me lol!

I do have 2 Windows based laptops actually, I didn't think of them before, although I want to try and keep them for their purposes only (One for ripping CDs to flac format for my DAP and the other for astrophotography and astronomy images etc). So, I'm gonna see if I can get pob to run on the Mac with WINE!

The laptops were bought back during my last job 3 years ago. I prefer to keep those laptops for their specified usages, yes. Just like some people have a gaming computer and an everyday tasks computer...3rd laptop is a MBP and guess what, most software devs don't develop for the OS X platform...(see path of building as an example).

Wine / Wine-bottler will not allow you to use copy paste functions to PoB. You will either want to set up a Windows VM or use a phone. PoB has an Android app, or you can use PoE Mate on Android or Apple.
