Is there a way to attack and continue moving? (PS4)

I'm working on a Deadeye torn ranger, have torn bound to X button PS4 controller, but when I go to use torn, my character stops. I've seen videos on YouTube with people continuing to move and firing torn at the same time.

How is this being done? What am I doing wrong?

Also - in order to get the ascendancy nodes for the merciless and uber labs, I presume i have to complete the game in merciless and uber difficulties for the ascendancy mazes/puzzles to appear? After completing the campaign in normal mode, how do I switch to the harder difficulties?

The games lack of in-game help is appalling (and I'm being very kind with my words here).

So yeah I'm not really being helpful at all here, but this game has a heavy amount of in game help. If you pause there's a tab called "Help Panel" with tons of info. There's just nothing about controls anywhere.

Those difficulties were removed a while ago. You need to get the plaques in each zone https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Trial_of_Ascendancy

I think they are using the support gem "Mirage Archer"

Thanks guys! So, it is normal to stand still then when firing then - that makes me feel a bit better.

I've seen the odd "you have new help" appear from time to time in game, but haven't figured out how to access said help. This is the sort of thing the game should really be showing you in the initial tutorial imho.

Ah thank you!!! How much harder is merciless over cruel lab? I struggled (toughness) vs Izaro on cruel - nearly One shotted me several times (around 2k health at the time, evasion around 2500, max resistances). Normal mobs weren't difficult for me, just Izaro.

A host of other questions if people would be kind enough to answer them...

Also, I'm not using chin/drillneck/empires as my gear yet (I do have them though in my stash). I presume that with the torn build, when facing a boss, I switch from my main weapon to chin/drillneck and use barrage rather than torn skill and at close range for max. damage, right?

What I'm finding it is very difficult to get the links on gear, especially with the weapon. Getting six sockets on the lioneye's is near impossible it seems (what are the odds?). At the moment, I'm using Death's Opus (4 sockets - torn/maim/greater multiple projectiles/vicious projectiles only). How much more damage can I potentially get from using the 5th and 6th recommended gems (increased critical damage & mirage archer)? I'm not really using all of the gear recommended in the peo builds guide yet either (mainly cos my resistances will suck if I switch to it, need much better rings/amulets). I'm just curious at how much better the character will be once I implement the entire gear/gems etc from the build guide. Sheet DPS for torn is around 4600 atm, burning arrow is around 9800 but torn absolutely kills burning arrow from a damage perspective. I have the feeling that sheet dps isn't telling me the entire story or truth lol. Much like sheet damage in D3 is very misleading. Am I correct?

1. Just get 5 levels over the recommended and there shouldn't be issues. Use decoy totem or mirror arrow or other similar agro drawing skill if needed.

2. Chin + barrage for single target yes.

3. What iLvl is the gear you are trying to socket? Depending on this you can only get 4, 5, or 6. Click in LS / L3 and it will tell you.

4. Honestly try using Path of Building. You can sign in with your Xbox / PSN account here and export your character. All uniques are in there and you can sort by DPS to see what would be an upgrade in each spot.

Wait, what, I can sign in with my PSN account here? Can you provide more information and step by steps please? I'm pretty new to the forums and to POE as you can see. I had/have no idea that I could do that and how do I see my PS4 character on this site? Sorry, total noob here!

edit: do you mean path of planning? I googled path of building but could only find the offline editor, which is useless to me as it runs on Winblows only and I'm on a Mac....i don't have access to a Winblows PC at this point of time...

Is poeplanner the online version of path of building offline editor? I tried logging onto poeplanner website with my PSN account details but it didn't work.
