Hmm.. that "puttering" (where you get stuck in cast animation with no skill output) has been an issue since at least Abyss league (because I had this exact issue with Icestorm and Scorching Ray CwC setup). Hard to believe that GGG *still* have not fixed this issue. It has affected other CwC builds AFAIK.
Timezone: GMT +10 (Australia). CASUAL player but I play whenever I can.
Can some1 help with endgame stage?

clear speed - its soooooooooo slow. This is spell cascade problem or im mising something?

Int - where i can get more int?
whats the benefit of having 1 staff over 2? if you have 2 do they both need to be whispering ice?

If you get two staffs in one you have clear speed setup, in the other you have single target.

In game, press 'i' on your keyboard, then 'x'. You will be surprised.

One staff is set up to be lower dps but has the ability to clear a larger area. It can be either a 5L with Winter Orb, or just a regular staff with Elemental Focus replaced with Spell Cascade (but wait until GGG fixes the bug with this.)

The other staff you use primarily for boss killing, as it is set up to be higher dps but a smaller area.

You hold second staff in your weapon swap. You press "X" button, and now you hold alternative weapon. This feature was there since the beginning, since Diablo 2 :)

Why? Isn't it obvious? Because if you use spell cascade for map clearing, your damage output would be about 4 times less, then hardcore single-target output. It's pretty much how is it going - you clear the map with spell cascade version, arrive to the boss, click on "X", and now you have "boss setup" staff with a single click on keyboard.

But, that only counts if spell cascade works with CwC... since the start of the league we encounter that problem, and i didn't saw anyone saying that it was resolved...

From... INT nodes! :)

Regarding clear speed, yes, bug of Spell Cascade and CwC does affect it. On the other hand more links to WO will help, try 5 links and add Cold Penetration to it. Are you not using HoI also? That increase clear speed also since packs of mobs explode when hit with HoI.

More INT does not help a lot with clear speed since Spell Cascade is broken and INT does nothing to WO only to WI.

Got The %increased ES recovery one, it was "only" 2.5 Ex - all the money in the bank and it was also perfect rolled 30%. (with 8K ES this adds around 720 ES to max leech of 2.4K ES). Adding also 50% from Blood Rage would set max leech to 4.4K ES and this only for 8K ES.

And probably also ES regen is bumped by %increased ES recovery so thats also a bonus

Zealotry one is no go for me since i have to not socket PoI (for Uber Elder/Aul fights) and also to spend points on tree to -mana reservation nodes points i can use in other area like Intelligence.

And the +ES on hit WE's are going now for 4.5-5 exalts which i don't have and i think will not drop in price on short term.


yeah you're right, that's the beauty of POE, flexibility :)

ps. regarding clear speed, i swaped some gems around and incorporated vortex as an active ability (inc. area, efficacy, controlled destr.) to help clear speed, with HoI expolosions and a lot ofo cold damege nodes from build, most packs explode from initioal vortex blast, and rest melts from cold DOT, play style is as:
1. run to pack,
2. drop vortex
3. begin channeling WO for about 1-1.5sec (to charge WO - using WO with GMP only bc of mana issues)
4. drop another vortex
5. repeat

sure im loosing vigilant strike but its much more active playstyle, we got some ES leech from tree so vortex also leeches a bit and i've done T13 with that setup easy peasy

For mapping im going self cast now you just need Mana Leech Support or Blapshemy + Warlord Mark, late game you can swap to Elder ring that have Warlord Mark on hit, this Mana leech its enough. Alot faster for mapping

Mana Leech - Energy Leech - Spell Cascade - Ice Bite(12% cast speed)/Hypothermia - Unleash - Controlled Destruction/Concentrated Effect.
