I feel like i should correct slight misunderstanding you have.
Level of spectres capped on 100 by gem level 19 already. There are almost no point to level it past that point. So that "lucky vaal" is kinda wasted, but whatever, if you have 20/20 gem already, shouldn't be any reason not to vaal it :)
Also, yeah, skullhead ftw
I'm using elder helmet right now, because it's cheap 6link, but i really miss my dear skullhead. Without it my spectres die like flies on hard bosses.
and skull not needed.

I couldn't afford 3 jewels to replace an item that is absolutely perfect for my build.
Guess I have a more defensive approach as my strategy.
Spectres healthbar I have yet to see move. Was lucky with a Vaal gem and got 21/20 Spectre gem.
Stone Golem in a 1L, I had to revive him less than 10 times.

It's not only about regeneration, but also about additional armour, and most importantly - 10% block chance

Well, spell always hit, they don't need accuracy. And SG won't use phys attacks at all, TV and WM using it, but... you know that they kinda useless :)
That's why i said that it's "almost" no point. I can't check it on broken wiki right now, but it can be that you'll get additional 1% to "deals more damage" modificator. It would be something at least :)

If somebody don't running hybrid build that need 2 6-link, skullhead is far better choice than elder helmet.
When i get my hungry loop set, i'll definitely throw away my elder helmet. It's "cheap" pseudo 6-link, sure, but that's all that it can give. If you already have 6 link, and don't need another - use something else.
