[3.9?] Sidefx Frost Blades - Hyped for Support +
" You're damn right, i do not even know why i was thinking about it. My gear is so bad that I do not even have 4k hp. I better think about what will increase my hp |

What are the recommended enchant (gloves/helm) for this build?
Playing HSC (soft) mapping only Pantheon? (for mapping) How do you deal with ele reflect? (except pantheon + leech flask + crossfinger? ) Zuletzt bearbeitet von nicquehen#6060 um 24.08.2017, 10:16:59

" Those 40% dmg reduction is with flasks up, right? I only get 29%: https://pastebin.com/HrURxUAV Did you swap Abyssus out for Stankonja on Guardians/Shaper/Uber? I still get rekt on the harder bosses. |
|
" I feel like Damage on Full Life is too inconsistent for this build. At least in boss fights. Hypothermia is strong unless you're fighting Guardians/Shaper. I haven't tested Ice Bite yet, though it seems it would be on par with Added Cold, of course with the additional freeze chance. The thought behind Melee Physical and Ruthless is the fact that the AoE portion is fine for clearing trash even on an effective 4-link. Where the build lacks is single target DPS, and that's where Melee Phys and Ruthless add the most. They're also always up, unlike Damage on Full, which obviously requires full life. " Any popular item is expensive at league start. ToA's tend to drop in price fast since it's a niche item. Demand drops a ton. If you can absorb the increased damage, Abyssus is a massive DPS boost for the build. The huge flat phys roll and nice multiplier bonus add a ton of damage that Starkonja can't. Starkonja has the benefit of not increasing physical damage taken and a nice life roll. The defenses are trying to get a large enough HP pool to avoid the 1-shot and leeching life back quickly through Vaal Pact. |

" "150% increased Effect of the Buff granted by your Ice Golems" enchant provides really nice crit chance and accuracy and is fairly cheap on a Starkonja's. |

" Melee physical works well as it is apllied before conversion. What i am confused about is why everybody uses multistrike. Personally I am not a fan of multistrike for this build because of the animation locking, and it in fact lowers your dmg which is worst for applying chill and freeze and their effects. The Combination with ruthlessness seems also weird, as the ruthless strike is applied to every ninth strike when used with multi. Dmg and dps as well are lower with multistrike (on my char and on OPs PoB). Is there any reason i dont see why to use multistrike? I am currently using 5L setup with FB -> Weapon Ele dmg -> Melee Phys -> Cold Pen -> Inc crit chance. But i want to rerol my 5L to RRGGG and swap that crit gem for either Hypothermia or Ice Bite. But i do not know which one, 20% more dmg to chilled enemies, or additional cold dmg per frenzy charge, both can freeze. I am interested in anybody's opinion on this. Ice bite or Hypothermia? Or something completely different? |

Hypothermia basically provide 39% more damage, except guardians, shaper, Atziri, and the monsters can not be chilled. For the ice bite, the tool tip shows everything. Link a lv20 ice bite in your hideout, you add 86 flat damage. Check the percentage grow in your tool tip, then multiply that percentage by 238/86=2.77 (238 is the total added cold dmg with 8 frenzy charge). If this percentage get close to 39%, ice bite outperforms the hypothermia. Zuletzt bearbeitet von allforone999#6775 um 24.08.2017, 12:55:27

" Multistrike offers a huge attack speed and overall DPS boost. Yes it will weaken your chill and freeze a bit, and lowers your average damage per hit, but I think it's still worth the trade off. Even without MS, this build doesn't really do the huge hits that make freeze really effective. It's still a lot of smaller hits. By end-game, I think you attack fast enough the animation lock isn't a concern. Chill is automatically applied now with cold damage on hit for 2 seconds. The damage dealt determines for how long the enemy is chilled. By PoB calculations, Hypothermia is incredibly effective as long as enemies are chilled, which would apply to everything except Shaper/Atziri/Guardians and any specifically enhanced "cannot be chilled" mobs. Looking again at PoB, Ice Bite is far weaker compared to Hypothermia (since so much of our damage is physical conversion, not flat cold). At 20/20, even Added Cold came out slightly better. Ruthless is hard to call right now. PoB shows a big DPS boost, but I'm not sure how he's calculating it. From what I've read from players testing, Ruthless should apply every 3rd Multistrike, and apply to all 3 hits. The wiki states that you need 9 attacks for 1 ruthless blow. If it's every third for all 3 strikes, that averages out to about a 37% more multiplier for single target. That puts it 3rd most powerful behind WED (or EDwA now I guess) and Melee Phys. However if it's only 1 out of 9 hits, then it probably should be revisited. Another gem not mentioned yet from what I've read is Maim. That offers up to a 30% more damage multiplier and a chance to add another 30% movement speed debuff as well. I think ultimately I'd like to run GGRRRB. General Mapping: FB - Hypothermia - WED - Melee Phys - MS - Crit Damage Guardians/Shaper: FB - Cold Pen - WED - Melee Phys - MS - Ele Focus " From the calc I ran from above, Ice Bite doesn't come anywhere near Hypothermia. Assuming you can chill of course. Because of all the conversion, flat cold isn't nearly as strong as flat physical. Hypothermia/Cold Pen are better options. " Quality on FB only affects the projectile damage. Melee Hit damage won't change, but Icy Blades will. Zuletzt bearbeitet von nEgativezEro89#1596 um 24.08.2017, 14:23:38

Hey there, a question regarding jewels:
So, I have this bad boy here
Spoiler
Looking at the updated tree on PoB, there are only 2 jewel sockets activated. Should I drop this one, reset the 3 nodes, and then follow the tree? Zuletzt bearbeitet von ZeyonMairo#4229 um 24.08.2017, 15:06:03
