It is a description of some of the content of another text. It is similar to saying such things as:

"The author of the book called George Wallace a racist."
"That magazine article said donald trump is incompetent."
"Fox News says that the Russians didn't interfere with our election."

But be that as it may, you are calling me a racist for saying that there are people who think that white males have had special privileges in the past. That is pretty strange.

Where is the racism? Which race have I demeaned or made fun of? Have I hurt your feelings because I pointed out that some people thin white men have had a edge in western culture?

Not sure if it was bad english or freudian slip. The examples you posted after are not like what you said earlier.
a good example for comparison would be refering to some hitler speech or something "the speech does talk about jews which need to be exterminated"
Its not saying the same thing as "hitler spoke of his viewed necessity to exterminate the jews"

One implies agreement, the other is neutral. (hmm, now Im wondering If I should phrase it as his necessity or the nazi party necessity, perhaps I shouldnt type when in a hurry)
