Just because some women are willing to play the game men demand of them doesn't mean they like it. It just means they are willing to put up with it in order to live their dreams. Same as a man working a dead end job puts up with it so he can have the simpler things he wants like a roof over his head, food, water and the occasional holiday.

I was simply trying to draw a parallel to what I quoted and point out that just because someone does a job doesn't mean they necessarily like doing it which the person I quoted was suggesting was true about pop stars being pop stars because they liked to be objectified. It's entirely possible some pop stars do, the same as some people like going to work like you've said. However your reply seems to imply that you think because some people do like to work it somehow proves all pop stars therefore like being objectified completely dismissing those in the analogy I was using who don't like going to work to show how completely wrong this is.

2. That was not what I was saying though. What I said was that I was sure she'd prefer to have enjoyed the successes she has achieved without being objectified. You don't know either. You have made the false assumption that just because she stuck with it and made her money that this constitutes enjoyment of being objectified. I would also argue making the money only signifies a willingness to tolerate being objectified. There is a difference! Offer enough money and you can get someone to eat a sheep's eyeball, doesn't mean they enjoy doing so!

And just because there may no longer be a financial motivation still doesn't mean she enjoys being objectified. There are many other reasons why a pop star might continue to be active and tolerate being objectified. They might feel they can make a difference in the world now they have the fame and fortune. They might still enjoy making music, touching people's hearts when they hear their song in spite of the objectification they would have to continue putting up with. Neither of which would have them enjoy being objectified still.

3. I never said all women were of this mind. And I do know that women in the pop industry don't like it because plenty have spoken out against it. To say nobody is forcing them I think is a little misguided. If you mean by physically forcing them, then no, you're right they are not. However I would argue they are being forced to conform to what sells the most and to give men what they want in order to get anywhere within the industry or to be taken seriously.

I guess that what I'm trying to say is that I believe true female vocalists would prefer to get on a stage looking attractive/their best, sure, but not have to perform in a short skirt, 6 inch platform boots and half their ass and breasts sticking out of their skimpy little outfit in order to sing their songs. Unfortunately to get the kind of sales that a record label demands these days that's what they often need to do which I think is wrong and objectification, something some pop stars don't enjoy being done to them.

Officially, I think they changed it to fit the theme of the expansion. Unofficially, they were perhaps trying to present a more wholesome image so that random people who saw screenshots wouldn't be put off from the game by thinking it was designed for geeks and weirdos.

Either way, I prefer the original UI as well. It had more character.
