Shaper Gloves Synergy & Kripp's "Everything Build"

Kripp mentioned his "everything build" on stream which I'd never thought of until he said it.
Since he won't be playing Breach league, I'm trying to figure out what synergies he saw with the Shaper's Touch unique gloves because I've been trying to figure out how to effectively use them -- and I was sure until he brought it up, that they weren't that good.

Whispering Ice, Iron Commander, and Pillar of the Caged God all seem like uniques which could exploit shaper's touch effectively, but I'm not sure of how it could have what Kripp says would be about "Max block, 10k+ Life/ES, 1800 armour and 13000 evasion".

Kripp then mentioned he neded a "specific helmet" with a "specific helmet enchant on it". The only helmets I feel that are honestly build defining right now are Three Dragons and Alpha's Howl. Neither of those hyper-syngergize with Shaper's Touch. In-fact, very few things synergize with going ES, life, evasion AND armour. Except for like, a few niche items which are super rare / expensive.

I'm thinking an "everything build" would use MoM in conjunction with high block or dodge. The only question is - if you want high armour with such a build, where do you get it from? And what skills do you use with it? And what other uniques do you leverage?

These are the uniques I think make sense:

Quiver (Lightning):
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Saemus%27_Gift

Chest (ES+Life):
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Geofri%27s_Sanctuary

Helmet (Accuracy=>Projectile Damage):
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Obscurantis

Weapon (Bow):
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Iron_Commander
vs
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Null%27s_Inclination

Gems:
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Pugilist
vs
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Spire_of_Stone
vs
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Static_Electricity
vs
Emperor Jewels
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/List_of_unique_jewels_received_as_a_Labyrinth_reward

The gems have no significant synergy other than encouragnig you to invest in attributes. The Emperor Jewels however directly synergize with Shaper's Touch! They are rather (ridiculously) expensive, however, I see none even for sale in poe.trade for essence league right now.

But yes, what kind of synergy exists here exactly? You could try to run Iron Commander and run some physical=>lightning damage conversion on your totems. That doesn't seem like a very logical build idea, though it could certainly work. You'd stack the hell out of dexterity... but then again, Iron Commander exclusively rewards dexterity, so it's not really incentivizing you to get Intelligence or Strength.

Geofri's Sanctuary is amazing with Shaper's Touch, that much is for sure. I can see a pure synergy there. But Whispering Ice has the same problem as Iron Commander. Neither synergize with the two other attributes. Neither utilize Shaper's Touch physical melee damage. I couldn't see Null's being super strong, even with Shaper's Touch.

This means Pillar of the Caged God makes the most sense, even though I'd really like to use Sauemus' Gift.

You could still take advantage of your large accuracy (from dex) stat and run Obscurantis - but you'd have to run a Staff-Projectile skill, which is basically the (rather crappy imo) lightning strike skill. Lightning strike doesn't feel like it synergizes much with anything these days. Sweep recently got a big buff, so Pillar + Sweep sounds good, but I don't think it quite has the clear speed to be that great.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to best min/max Shaper's Touch? Obviously get rares with high +attributes, but besides that.

Skill-wise, Spectral Throw + Pillar of the Caged God could be interesting?

"specific helmet" with stats? Black Sun Crest maybe?

Before CoC nerf there was some hilarious video with Sire of Shards ST+CoC+BL+3 more spells. So much effects it created...
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

I don't think that he was talking about a build that would go for extraordinary amount of a single stat. That would be counterintuitive to the 'everything' aspect. So I'd drop the idea of PotCG, Iron Commander, WI.

If we look at the given information only the guardian makes sense really. Radiant Faith offers both, Energy Shield and Armour. IIRC he said at one point that he'll reserve some life but doesn not intend to use Shav's. Pretty sure he'll use Grace for the base evasion. We can further conclude that he'll use some kind of melee attack to get the most out of Shaper's Touch. Let's have a closer look at these gloves:

+2 Accuracy Rating per 2 Intelligence
+1 Life per 4 Dexterity
+1 Mana per 4 Strength
1% increased Energy Shield per 10 Strength
1% increased Evasion Rating per 10 Intelligence
1% increased Melee Physical Damage per 10 Dexterity

So this build does indeed benefit from every single mod from Shaper's Touch. My guess is that he planned to have a good amount of all three, Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence to round up his build.

/EDIT: He said he'd have 44% chance to block without Rumi's. That basically rules out PotCG, IC and WI aswell. Pretty much impossible to have 44% with staves or bows.

Okay so if I were to make a very close guess I'd say this is his build:

Passive Tree

Alpha's Howl, Aegis Aurora and Shaper's Touch would be key items. Anger and Wrath do bring heavy amounts of damage due to +2 level from Alpha's Howl and 61% increased aura effectiveness. Base Evasion comes from Grace and Alpha's Howl, while base Armour comes from Radiant Faith and the other gear slots. Mantra of Flames can be used to further increase the fire damage.

The attack would be a generic one handed melee attack. Kripp said that it could be changed, but one specific skill would probably be best. No idea to which skill he was referring, but I imagine Wild Strike would work quite well in this setup.

The weapon would be any one handed weapon with lots of elemental damage. Maybe a dagger to enable Elemental Overload easily.

With Aegis Aurora and the block chance from the tree you'll end up with exactly 44%, so being nearly cap'd with Rumi's.

Build was supposed to have permanent fortify. Since it was also supposed to be a templar that rules out champion.

http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Perseverance
or
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Vigilant_Strike
or
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Fortify_Support

All three cases mean it is a melee build.

He also said it would have big regen and max block would be achieved with Rumi and 1 jewel.

Context of the conversations hints at one more clue. No poison or ignite, it would show players that "normal" build can be top-tier.

I'm not really all that interested in streamer bilds, but from what I read here alpha's howl doesn't make all that muvch sense for me to be honest. If he really plans on exploiting shaper's touch, then black sun crest might be an option.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

I'm interested in it because Kripp usually does see things that should be obvious in hindsight.

Guardian or Champion make a lot of sense as ascendencies - permanent foritfy for Champion plus tons of armour/evasion from the ascendancy. Or in the Guardian's case, you can run a lot of auras. Kripp seemed to think he'd have a ton of damage output, but I'm skeptical Guardian can achieve this even when running some added damage auras. Wild Strike is an interesting suggestion, but... isn't the skill total trash unless you build significant crit or get a free chain from somewhere?

If you're going for large amounts of every stat, to me Pillar of the Caged God still makes some amount of sense, because you can still get a lot of block for staves with the right configuration of uniques, gems, and passive skills. Maybe not so much "block cap" though.

I'm not sure the ascendancy is that important in the long run. I'm pretty sure the most important aspect of the build is actually the uniques chosen. Unique chest, unique gloves, unique shield and possibly a unique weapon all make sense, but I think rares in all other slots are best unless we're talking about exploiting some specific mechanic. Alpha's Howl can't be that obligatory.

Sounds like a build with an aura bot next to him to me ;)

10k HP is basically only achievable by builds that need very little DPS scaling compared to other builds, explosive arrow, wormblaster etc so he is using a buffbot or using a skill that can be built to scale effectively without any passive investment at all.

I believe bladeflurry with added cold/added chaos/added lightning can be scaled quite outrageously for few points but i haven't looked into it myself, certainly the stats presented suggest a very heavy cheesing is involved.

Notice some people mentioning pillar it won't be that you have to scale strength outrageously then run flat phys damage on everything to actually get the damage out of it.

For example if you ran ~ 1k-1200 strength with a geoffri's chest on a heirophant with shapers gloves you could get extremely high hp/ES however your damage is going to blow in the long run, maybe with 4 warchief totems you could manage on about the safest character you've ever seen but in the long run it sounds like a zero offence character getting by with totems to me :P

Edit2: using a Doon in mainhand could give you ~ full spell scaling if you had enough strength and still heirophant would give you 3/4 totems to actually do the damage.

The way I see it every of Kripp's suggested breakpoints is or can be met by the build I drafted. Let's go through them and compare them with my idea:

22000 armour: Reserving 1500 life will result in roughly 4800 armour just from Radiant Faith. No considering increased to armour from the tree and base armour from the rest of the gear 22000 is very possible.

1700 evasions: This one is a bit harder. Having grace in Alpha's Howl will net roughly 4500 evasion (with 60% aura effectiveness). Getting to 17000 evasion with a flask wouldn't be a problem at all. I believe it can be done without a flask, you'd require a fair amount of dexterity and increased evasion rating in the tree tho.

44% chance to block: Met this value exactly.

12000 ES + Life This can be achieved easily. Even if we take 4000 unreserved health as a base value you'd only need 8000 ES, which isn't a problem at all with the tree I posted.

'Permanent Fortify' He stated that the character will be a templar. So fortify will be activated by a generic melee attack.

This build makes also full use of The Shaper's Touch, which fits the 'everything' theme. He said at one point that his AoE will be questionable, which led me to Wild Strike. It can be any other melee attack tho. Damage output itself should be pretty solid with Anger, Wrath, probably Herald of Thunder and/or Ice, Mantra of Flames and a high elemental damage one handed weapon. Throw in some more multipliers like Elemental Overload, Elemental Focus, Weapon Elemental Damage, etc and you're good to go.
The thing is, Shaper's Touch is giving you a lot of bonus stats, so you may only need 150% increased life with a lot of attributes to reap a high life pool. Geofri's could give you a lot of bonus energy shield with Shaper's Touch, which then gets scaled up with Shaper's Touch... Astramentis is probably required with such a build. But if you're reserving life as Guardian, maybe ES is really the focus. If so, you basically need to cap your chaos resistance to stand a chance in the end game.
