[outdated] King of the Forest (Crit version)

Can anyone please help with upgrades?
I'm at 6.8k hp, 180+ all resists, 9.1k barrage tooltip damage.
I can clear everything up to t15 like a breeze.. I wonder what to upgrade for shaper and guardians.

I was thinking between 6l (5~ex), the new flask (sin's rebirth, around 2ex) or get +25~30% rings/ammy.
Crit multiplier is pretty useless with death's opus so I'm going for extra physical damage.
First, thanks for the build!

I'm playing in softcore breach (5l death opus, 5l queen), great aoe clear speed, viable against breach lord.

But i'm struggling against ubber izaro final form, third time OS. decoy totem is really not reliable anymore, any suggestion?

Dps is clearly not a problem wiht this build, but Evade seems so weak. Level 82, only 5200 hp, with 4 x 7% hp jewel and around +70 hp on gear.

Damned..6.5 ex Reach of the council...

I've done uber lab on the first or second day of being lvl 70+, right after upgrading my bow to Death's Opus. I had cheapo rares, no Devoto's (used a life + res helm as I didn't feel like I'm ready to drop those stats yet), don't remember how much life I had but ~5.5k max.

The only damage I ever had to take was from the Goddess' spell (the green AoE barrage thingy). I even died to it one time when I attempted uber lab without being res capped - it straight up oneshot me in phase 1 :D But yeah, if you don't die to that, it's just a matter of execution and knowledge of the Izaro fight (google a vid on it if you've never bothered to learn his spells). As long as you are on the move, he should never be able to hit you with anything, and you can do damage to him while he's swinging his weapon or casting shit. Just be patient and run around until you see he gets busy, shoot some, keep moving, etc.

I mean, phase 3 is almost the exact same as 1 and 2, just with traps (and the portal spell if you stay in melee). If you get past phase 1 and 2, I don't really see why you'd struggle with phase 3. Maybe you aren't using Blink Arrow enough there? That's the only 'big difference' I can think of in my playstyle for phase 3 - the traps make it impossible to just run around in circles in his room, so you gotta improvise and warp around a bit.

Unless you are doing him with buffs from the other phases, in which case it kinda depends on which mods you're giving him. Certain combos can be really rippy.

EDIT: and in general, this build relies on its high movement speed and attack speed (very fast animations so you're never "locked" in place for too long) as its defense mechanic. Evasion might seem "weak" on its own, but the idea is that you are so mobile that between the hits that you DIDN'T evade, you will always either escape, leech or regen it back before the next hit lands on you. Once you get into that kind of mindset, you'll realize that evasion is pretty damn good.

It does have its weaknesses against things like targeted burst though, as well damage over time and stuff like that, but generally the game is tuned in a way that all of those things are avoidable or manageable. That's why Izaro's attack animations are so long you can move out of them, and the same is true for Daresso for example. And that's what this build tries to achieve in its defense: it's very fast and very 'snappy', it tries to make it easy for you to avoid everything avoidable by movement, and give you a high enough life pool to not get oneshot by directly targeted spells.

Embrace the mindset of the archer and kite, kite, kite. As long as you're moving, you can't die

Practise merc lab till it feels safe. I think the fight is mostly about staying calm and knowing what to do. That comes after doing it 10+ times.

Good luck!

I've been playing, and enjoying, this build in Breach. Thanks for posting it!

I was curious as to what you (OP or anyone) do about mana? In watching OPs videos I see that he/she is gaining mana pretty quickly but isn't using any mana leech gems or mana potions. At level 70 I struggle to run auras and not constantly run out of mana while farming. I'm definitely not regenning as fast as OP.

Curious to see what the proper method is to handling it.
Gonna start this Build today i think, so i can get to 70+ in the weekend.

I can afford an drillneck with an added arrow or a reach. Got about 8ex.

What would give me the most dps? a reach with a normal drillneck or an Added arrow drillneck with an opus?

Got couple of qusetions.

1. I got these two rings with %chaos damage. Is it worth to craft flat chaos on any of those?

Spoiler

2. Should I get 6L Queen Of The Forest or 5L Reach of the Council first (they cost approximately the same)?

3. Death Opus crit seems higher than RoTC, should we adjust tree\gear accordingly?

4. I use Snakebite with Assasin's Mark corruption and curse on hit. This way I can more or less maintain power charges. But how would you do that without? That 10% chance from ascendancy I don't see proc often enough (if any at all), and on bosses that's even harder to proc.

There's a mana leech node at the very bottom of the tree linked in the OP. (Don't remember how the wheel it's in is called, but you'll find it. There's one Life leech node on the way to it used too.)

There's also another mana leech node available at the cost of just 1 point in the Essence Sap wheel (it's in the bottom right~). If you struggle with mana with just 0.4% mana leech from the first node, you can use this one and then regret out of it later when your damage is enough to sustain mana always. I had to do this too.

Thanks so much! I had in fact already allocated that one passive in the center-bottom but it wasn't enough (DPS isn't high enough yet, I guess). That one in the Essence Sap wheel was an easy respec so I'll give it a shot. :)
