Apparently it's been confirmed somewhere that Kaom's is the same base. Even if it is not, the base was a 68 armor... What else is there to move it to? A WEAKER armor?

Why is that chest worth so much on softcore? 1,000 HP is a lot but it has no other mods and no sockets meaning you lose out on 5L/6L depending on your weapon setup.
I would build something around that in a heartbeat in hardcore due to the safety net +1,000 base HP provides, but it seems a little too defensive for softcore. |

Kaom's in softcore means much easier life for a 2h weapon build. And while death may not be "permanent" in SC, losing 15% at level 90 will make you punch someone.
