No sockets on chest is a pretty big downside... Though +1000 life is pretty fucking good too.

I'm guessing he didn't go the chance+scouring route. Reason i think that is because he originally posted it with 0% quality. I mean, he could have just forgot, but most people would max the quality first if they planned on chancing and scouring. For those who are just chancing and trashing, waiting to max the quality is usually more efficient.

I agree that it's strong, it does have some hefty downside attached. 800 life would probably be enough to make it godly, but 1000 has a nice ring to it. I think it's fine, given how rare it is now.

If rare chests could be better, I think the unique would be perfectly balanced. I mean, you cannot get flat armor and % armor increases and also get a max life increase on your chest. Pretty lame as a result.

There also aren't enough defensive things a chest can provide. They should add to the chest mod pool? But maybe bias the stats so they're rare and don't make getting a 'good' chest too difficult. (I'm thinking mods like "avoid shock/freeze/burn" or "increased movement speed" or, higher flat possible life regen, or increased block chance, or decreased cast interruption chance) But hopefully I mean, I'm hoping chest pieces in the future will be more than "ES/life and sockets" because that IS mostly their point of existence, and this chest does the former very well.
