Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page & POE 2 Arc Summary

Just found a lapidary lens, is there any preference for gems here? Is going for a 21 vaal arc over a 21 arc the right call, or is there some other gem that would benefit?

It's definitely a worthwhile investment to upgrade a level 21 Arc to a level 21 Vaal Arc. Vaal Arc is amazing against timeless monoliths and also provides a good one-time damage boost in boss fights (and is really useful against mobs with the "cannot die" aura). I usually buy one, though, since the odds of making one yourself are pretty bad.

But if it were me, I'd try my luck on a 20/20 Anomalous Arc. Obviously the odds are still bad of a landing a level 21 Vaal Arc, but those fuckers are probably going to be prohibitively expensive otherwise.

Hello, kind of a new player, really enjoying making this but i've noticed something.

Starting from around Act 3 i stopped being on par with the "expected" skill tree, even tho i have used all points i've gotten.

Right now i just finished Act 7 and am lvl 56, typed /passives and i've spent 71 total points, 16 of which were from quests, 14 of those were from books of skill, so i've completed everything according to the wiki.

Still, the Act 7 passive tree shows 76 points used, so i'm 5 points behind even when i believe i'm 1 or 2 levels overleveled?

Can someone explain this to me please?

Don't bother worrying about these details, you will be able easily sort out anything you may have missed when you're done with the campaign and you're much stronger and have easy access to better gear.

It's not a mortal sin to be overleveled, especially when you're not a competitive player (like racers). Also, when playing in a hardcore league you will be most of the time overlelled (except your build + gear is OP af).

The downside of being overlelled are 'diminished returns' resulting from Experience penalties. It's not just the most efficient way to play, but not generally something bad.

Ty for the answer!

I was worried i messed something up, but i checked Wiki as i said and everything matches perfectly, maybe the tree was made expecting new players to be WAY overleveled.

Ty for the answer as well!

My issues was that even being overleveled by 1 or 2 levels, i was still 5 points behind the "expected" skill tree, i'll just disregard this and keep on levelling.

The number of passive points also slightly changed in Enki's last update of the guide. Before it was 75 for act 7. It's still just a rough estimate where people end up when they level.

I remember being always overleveled and already taking a look at the tree for the next act because I had too many points. In SSF I might just farm a few areas for an extra level or some gear when I feel like I'm falling behind and need an upgrade. In trade league people might just buy leveling gear and speedrun into maps.
When I started playing this game there were 3 acts and Piety was the final boss. After taking a break for a few years I actually enjoy playing the full campaign every few months now so I'm not super rushing anything.

So the tree somewhat has to fit all kinds of playstyles, being a few points off is not a big deal. And if you did all the quests for skill points then you're not missing anything.
Tbh levelling tree is a rough idea of priority (which points before the others) and it's good to know few points ahead where are you going. It's not super important to follow the order as long as you pick correct points overall, but the idea of levelling trees is to balance damage and life in a way you won't slow yourself down too much from deaths or lack of damage.
Thanks a lot for all the answers guys!

Yeah i've already just let it go, as i've said i was just worried i screwed up, after the answers i can tell it's really just something that simply happened and not bad in any way.

I've just finished Act 9 and am only about 2 points behind (i usually am the same level or +1 of the zone i'm in, which i assumed is what's supposed to be happenning) and everything feels smooth (hopefully even more so when i get a good wand and have someone craft the "trigger" mod).

The build is a lot of fun, hopefully i can manage the gear myself after reaching maps, thanks again for the help!

You can also type /passives into chat. It will list all the sources of passive points outside of leveling and whether or not you obtained them. Generally this is a good check to do at the end of Acts in case you missed something somewhere, but you can do it now if you think you should have more points.
