General case: none, or a leveled enlighten.
But you could also link ele prolif to HoA. It will be less powerful than before prolif nerf of course. Herald of Ice, Curse on Hit, Assassin's Mark is also a nice setup to generate power charges. I use it instead of HoA. But HoA is still cool on fractured maps where I tend to enable it instead of Hatred. Ranger builds list: /917964

Does Herald of Ice proc a curse linked with Curse on Hit? If yes, is Assasin's Mark the absolutely best curse to use with the Tornado shot+Frenzy setup?

HoI explosion procs when you kill frozen monsters, it then curse all targets in its AOE.
For this build, yes, AM is basically the best curse. Vulnerability is another valid choice but you won't have the power charges, and they're a very sensible boost. Ranger builds list: /917964

Why not helping Kraityn on normal? It's only 40 from oak, while 10% to all resistances it's a nice help towards capping the resistances, no?
I'm sure this has been discussed already in this topic but going through 470 pages of discussion is a real hassle, and I'd rather ask again. Also thank you NeverSink: this guide helped me figuring what I was doing wrong with my first Ice Shot build, changed a couple of gems and got my dps doubled. /oos

Res can be capped with gear.
There's no cap on life, and those 40 hp translate to 100+ with the % increased life from tree. If you lack some res, just temporary spec into Cloth and Chain or Survivalist. You can always refund it later when you have the appropriate gear. Ranger builds list: /917964
