Avatar of Fire makes me sad, please help me (Iron Grip)

I have a total of 96% Physical Damage to Fire Damage conversion. 50% from the passive, and 46% from the Blackgleam quiver.

I checked the raw damage per attack (not DPS) on two skills I was doing the counting with so I didnt have to take into account the reduced attack speed. Instead of 60% increased damage, I get 20%.

Why? :-(

The skill I checked it with was with Frenzy and Barrage. My character has 300 strength, Iron Grip should give me +60% extra damage.

That 60% is an "increased" modifier and it stacks additively with all other applicable damage increases you have before being applied to your base damage. It doesn't flat out boost your total damage by +60%, unless you actually have no other sources of damage increases. A modifier that says 60% more damage would do exactly that, but the strength bonus/iron grip is a damage increase.

ok so in other words, if the game says "more" it is a global modifier, and if it says "increased" it raises the baseline only?

Anyways, Avatar of Fire calculation is really weird...

How do I calculate this properly?

Example bow will have 100 physical damage flat.
Let us assume we have a total of 100% physical damage to fire damage conversion. Avatar of Fire passive is active.
I have 50% increased physical damage from Iron Grip.
I have 50% increased fire damage from passives.
I have 50% increased elemental damage with weapons from passives.

What is my final DPS at 1 attack per second with the default attack?

-----

I have another alt that does not use avatar of fire, it only has 68 strength, which should be about 13% increased damage from Iron Grip, I checked the damage change and it gives a flat 13%. Or in other words, 100% full bonus from Iron Grip, unlike the other character that experiences some obscene penalty (33% efficiency).

Ezpz.

100 Weapon Physical Converts to 100 Weapon Fire (from Physical)

100 Weapon Fire benefits from Iron Grip (from Phys), 50% Fire, 50% WED
100 * (1 + (50/100) + (50/100) + (50/100)) = 250 Fire Damage

If you add another 250 Strength (50% Increased Physical Damage), it becomes the following:
100 * (1 + (100/100) + (50/100) + (50/100)) = 300 Fire Damage
20% more Damage than before

The more Increased Damage you already have, the less relative effectiveness Increased Damage has. In this example each chunk of 50% Increased Damage adds the same amount of Damage. It's only when you compare 250% to 300% that the last 50% looks less powerful than the first 50%. Hence, relative.

'Reduced' is additive with 'Increased'. The more Increased Damage you have, the less noticable Reduced Damage is; it's just subtracted from the large base of Increased you have.

'More' and 'Less' are both multiplicative - they always grant the stated multiplier because they are added separately.
