what is the best element for mage? opinions pls

really want to try this game and wanted to see what would be easiest mage element to try out. i am a new gamer so wanting to see some tips to grind.

I'd guess cold is the most popular at the moment but new spells for fire and lightening as well as rebalancing of the current ones could change that. Cold has the inherent advantage of slowing/stopping your foes which is always strategically valuable. You get the opportunity to try gems from each class in early game so it is easy to try them out and see which fits your play style.

1. Cold + Crit
2. Pure Minions
3. Minions with either Fire or Lightning.

For all of them get Hexs never expire also.
