[3.27] Lightning Carrion Golem Necromancer, all content + Uber viable ~140m DPS
![]() Intro: Hi everyone, I want to show you my Lightning Carrion Golem Necromancer which performed well in various types of content including mapping, (AFK-)Blight and killing Uber bosses. I was quite excited for the changes to the Carrion Golem of Scavenging but couldn’t play in 3.26 so I decided to make the build now. Basics: The CGs are permanent minions that have three abilities: The Combo Attack, the Cascade and the Leap Slam. The Combo Attack deals 60% more damage and is the golems main attack skill. It’s a sequence of 6 slashes that get a 200% more attack speed and an additional 20% more attack damage modifier after the 2nd slash. The Cascade has 35% less damage, a 6 second cooldown, a cone-shaped aoe and is the golems main clear skill. It can hit enemies multiple times but is still worse dps-wise due to the lower hit damage and slower attack time but the golems rarely ever use it against single enemies. The Leap Slam has 125% more damage, a 4 second cooldown, a small aoe and is the golems gap closing skill. Unlike the other versions the Carrion Golem of Scavenging also has the ability to consume corpses which heals them and has a 5 second cooldown. More importantly after consuming a corpse they can use the Empowered Cascade once which is similar to the regular skill but has 130% more attack damage and 100% more area of effect making it much more powerful. The minion scales well with flat added damage, attack speed, crit and maximum number of golems as well as with +levels to some degree. Class/Ascendancy: You want to play CGs on the Necromancer so you can grab Commander of Darkness, Mindless Aggression, Bone Barrier and Mistress of Sacrifice for increased damage, elemental resistances, minion&player survivability, skill effect duration, Offerings applying to the player as well as Minions leeching life to the player. You can use the Forbbiden Jewels to allocate Plaguebringer in the medium budget and Liege of the Primordial in the high budget. Bandits & Pantheon: Kill all bandits for the passive points. Use Soul of the Brine King for freeze immunity and reduced chill effect as well as Soul of Ryslatha for flask charges and increased life flask recovery on low life. Levelling: The base skill gem can be accessed after the quest 'Breaking the Seal' in Act 4 but shouldn't be used early on due to the limited number of golems available to the player. I recommend playing as Absolution until you have access to the Carrion Golem of Scavenging, the Clayshaper and have allocated Golem Commander. The Carrion Golem of Scavenging is a transfigured gem which you can access via lab or trade.

Pros and cons
Pros: + Permanent minions with amazing survivability + Great defenses: Block Capped, 4 endurance charges and scales down elemental & chaos dmg by a combination of Divine Flesh+Fourth Vow + Up to 2.5k life recovery per second due to (instant) leech + Great bosser + Amazing clear-speed Cons: - Requires a set of Primordial Jewels + Anima Stone which represents an investment barrier in the beginning and gem pressure later on - The Blasphemer's Smite doesn't have perfect uptime which lowers DPS. This is made worse if you have too many melee minions and/or low minion movement speed - Visual clarity is impacted by the Cascades. This can be made worse by using the Celestial Carrion Golem skin - The high budget is expensive due to the Forbidden Jewel combo and the multi-link weapon
Spectres and AG
For the spectres you should use the Perfect Blasphemer, the Perfect Spirit of Fortune and the Perfect Hulking Miscreation (they are itemised and can be found in Rituals or bought from trade). In the medium budget you can add a Perfect Warlord for endurance charges as your fourth spectre (also itemisied and can be found in Rituals or bought from trade). The Perfect Warlord should be replaced by a Stygian Silverback for frenzy charges in the high budget. Before that you can use two Stygian Silverbacks and a Host Chieftain. They can be found in: Act 2 - The Riverways (Stygian Silverback) Act 6 - The Southern Forest (Host Chieftain) The gear of the AG heavily depends on the budget and can be found in the gear section of the respective PoBs.

Thank you for the guide.
In your PoBs please consider combining items, skills and tree setups in respective loadouts. Stone golem should be disabled in the clayshaper versions as well. You may as well throw out graft effects, league is almost over and we won't be getting them in 3.28. Those two are minor but just for completeness' sake. |
