Ominous Altars Freythorn Keep Dying After Boss is Dead

After killing the King in the Mists, I continually die when trying to loot the Gembloom skull, up to ten or fifteen seconds after the boss is dead. I've lost so many hours of HC SSF time due to this idiotic bug. What the hell is going on with this?
