Blackflame Covenant bug
|
Hi,
My current build is Lich Witch. Passive skill : Blackflame Covenant. When using the spell -Temporal Chain- with the -Burning Inscription- support gem, it creates a purple fire AoE on the ground. When the spell -Cast on Minion Death- with the -Tornado- spell socketed activates, it creates a fire Tornado, as it imbues itself with ground effect such as fire. The bug is that the Tornado created is Orange (Fire) instead of Purple (Chaos), as all fire spells are converted to chaos because of Blackflame Covenant. It might be a visual bug. I am unable to verify the type of damage applied by the Tornado spell while imbued with Chaos Fire. Or Blackflame Covenant might not be applied correctly. It might also be intented. I am aware. Thank you! Zuletzt bearbeitet von Sergueil#0331 um 30.01.2026, 09:49:36 Zuletzt angestoßen am 30.01.2026, 20:14:56

I can appreciate why you would like the tornado to be consistent, but the Blackflame Covenant keystone will only convert spells that have a Fire gem tag.
The Burning Inscription support creates a spell that does have a Fire tag, causing its appearance and damage type to be converted. Tornado is a physical spell (it has only a physical tag and not elemental tags) that does not create a secondary skill. It does not take on any new gem tag to suit the damage type it acquired. Because Tornado is not a Fire spell, its added damage would not be converted by the keystone and should remain as fire. Been a bit since I played with this keystone, but I did for a time use Burning Inscription on cursed ground. I checked and reconfirmed that adding a support with a fire tag to Tornado doesn't allow Blackflame Covenant to convert it (e.g. Catalysing Elements, which admittedly triggers another skill). It will allow you to add other fire supports to the tornado (e.g. Ignite). |
