Act 4 Eye of hinekora +2 passive skill points.

Today I was playing couch co-op with my daughter I was using my ranger a she was playing my sorc we unlocked the eye of hinekora area where you get the extra 2 passive skill points. Did everything correct did offering got the extra mana reward killed the boss but during the boss fight she had died on the sorc but I did not with the ranger, I then finished the boss fight revived her and talked the boss and moved on. Spoke the npc in the trial of the ancestors where they stated about receiving a gift but no plus skills gift was given. I have googled this issue and found it to be a problem that if you die during that particular boss fight there is an issue with the reward but no fix for it. How can I fix this so that the plus skills is rewarded as it states on the map the quest is now completed and the reward received?

Any help with this issue would be appreciated
