Doryani Exploding balls stacking - Is this normal behaviour ? Feels wrong.

The small exploding orbs ended up all stacked on me, as far as I know they normally get scattered. Is this normal ? Feels wrong and overly sneaky, kind of like getting sucker punched.

If I did not have Instant replay on, I would never have been able to guess what had happened.
