Am I really expected to stop attacking to escort these spirits?

This seems ridiculous as a mechanic... just send the spirit to the rare once it's active. Hell... if a spirit spawns, just have it spawn ON the rare in the first place. Let it have a minute chance to leave the rare when it dies to travel to a new one.
Why do I have to stop attacking (which is a big part of defense, killing shit before it kills you, not to mention other mechanics increasing defenses when you kill or hit things)... so I can painstakingly walk the spirit through groups of mobs? It's so counterintuitive. And I'm tired of dying trying to assure a spirit reaches a rare. Because rest assured, if I use my abilities... the rare is gonna get caught in the cross fire. So I can't expect to farm the rare charm... let alone it being rare enough when you CAN kill spirits conveniently. Zuletzt angestoßen am 23.01.2026, 05:23:21

Yes.

Keep killing, every enemy the wisp touches buffs them and increases their rarity drop.

it's the most awful mechanic in poe2 and i cannot believe it's still in the state that it is. wisps are actively infuriating to engage with.

It’s amazing that if you look at this mechanic and yoy immediately know who designed it.
Exploit early exploit often bozos.

Sometimes I feel like Im chasing a toddler around when following these wisps. They move a little. Stop. Look around. Move a little more. lol

Wisps should be faster and just travel to a rare without waiting for you. They empower all mobs on the way and killing them gives you bonuses to the loot of the possessed rare.

" Stop, your talking too much logic and reason in a game that has no place 4 it. |

I agree the spirit should auto move and go into a rare without escorting. Or just spawn the rare mobs with a spirit inside them .
Really stupid that you have to follow it and risk death for useless loot ! |

Also, as a pure minion build, this mechanic is extra dumb.
The whole "let the spirit touch mobs to boost drops" idea assumes I can just... not kill things for a bit. My minions did not get that memo. They see a monster and immediately turn it into a fine red mist, whether I approve or not. So I can't really do the "escort it through a pack to stack rarity" minigame, because the pack is already a memory. Meanwhile a caster/ranged/melee build can just take their finger off the button for a moment, let the spirit boop a few monsters, then resume deleting the screen. Easy. For minions, the mechanic basically says "Congrats on your archetype - now please unpick it." So yeah. It's not just annoying. It straight up negates a whole playstyle. |
