POE 2 needs a new endgame archetype
|
some of my friends are quitting poe, i asked them why and the answer was "boring".
at first i didnt understand, then as i keep thinking about it. it does have a ridiculously repetitive gameplay. now i understand that POE 1 is all about repetitive grind. but if theres nothing to do with all the gears and equipments you got other than doing the same thing you did to get those equipments, what even is point ? i feel like there should be something nuanced to the "endgame" rather than just "grind", bcs sure its a grind game (GGG). but the idea of POE 2 is to make something different right ? "Fun" is different for everyone. You should ask your friends what is "fun" for them.
As for the game, all ARPGS since Diablo 1 have an open ending and it is up for a player himself to decide when to stop playing and why. Everyone sets his own goals in such games. If one likes strict game-set endings, one should stop after finishing a campaign in POE 2. Or after beating Arbiter of Ash in the Atlas (however the Atlas story is still is under construction and doesn't lead us to him quest by quest as it, obviously, should (and will) be). POE (1,2) leagues always take a form of a big side-quest, where you have to beat its pinnacle boss. In 0.4.0 it is Atziri. So if one likes set endings, and he defeated Arbiter in this league or before, he can stop playing in 0.4.0 after killing Atziri. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Azimuthus#1135 um 22.01.2026, 12:11:41
