useless uniques

I cannot for the life of me understand why unique items have Base stats so incredibly low they make a unique item completely unusable. I get they are not supposed to be Bis. Uniques are supposed to be Build Enabling and/or able to built around.
However at some point the base items stats are so incredibly low and theres such a huge deficit of defense that it does not justify even attempting to use the item. The example currently on my mind is the coming calamity chest plate. Awesome armor, awesome stats. Base item stats? in the literal 200's. This item should fall somewhere in mid tier like 1k armor 700 evasion ATLEAST. A Bis hybrid chest is around 2k armor AND evasion and again I fully understand how uniques are used... but theres no making up for a 200 armor, 200 evasion chest piece, none. Yah if i want to run some Tier 3 maps and have fun for 2 seconds sure but the second I want to do anything real this chest piece like so many other uniques are going staight into the stash to NEVER BE USED. They did a pass over the base item stats of uniques already, alright, okay, now go back through and double or triple it. Don't they realize we want to build around these and not simply have them as novelty's? PLEASE MAKE THE UNIQUES USEABLE. Zuletzt angestoßen am 22.01.2026, 14:33:28

Uniques should all be tiered and you'd have to throw an orb of some sort on it to increase the tier to match your level.
That way they could keep up with the requirements in regards to their base stats. |

Uniques fall too hard when compared to rare itens, most of the time i fell putting a unique in my build does more harm than good, every time i decide to use one, i have to "compensate" in other items, because using a unique means you can't use a good rare on that slot
Some of them have pretty nice effects but very low level, wich means low defenses and stats (not to mention some negative effects). I think a good solution for this is having them drop at different item lvls, for example: That 2H mace to requires no lvl to use and have pitful stats, when you drop it at endgame in a tier 15 map, it would drop as lvl 80 item with its stats matching the lvl Another problem is the fact that some uniques have to few modifiers, how about creating a currency that works like an exalt for uniques? I have never, ever in 1000 hours of playtime, gotten a good unique.
All uniques that dropped or I tried to obtain with the orb of chance were shit. I just don't get it how the RNG works... All good uniques I ever had were bought from other players... I was really hoping that POE2 will be able to give me that amazing vibe that I had in D2 with the drops.. I don't even bother looking at them now. I just trader sell them or trash them for mats.

It's a confusing for sure.
I suspect uniques suck because of chance orbs. You got to have lots of bad items to reduce the likelihood of you getting good items. Or maybe the devs just throw some text on an items that looks cool and don't think twice about it? A big problem is the level of skills on the item. Item skills should auto-adjust to the players level. If every unique had either +20 all res or +20 all attributes or even +180 life, that would go a long way to making the playable. Personally I would prefer they all have +20 all res. That would make at a min, usuable to help solve res problems. |
